Thanks for the Morrison tip, I'll run that over with my Alberton connections.

I have some news from the premiership-impaired at the Eagles...another boost in playing stocks could well see a 'retired' ex-Magpie defender being swooped (pardon the pun) to Woodville. The player in question is currently playing Amatuer League footy.

Stay tuned for more news as it comes to hand,

CLB.

I heard the Cupido to Glenelg from an AFL scout in Melbourne a few weeks a go and posted a hint on the snouts forum - now it appears closer to fact than rumour. He would be a handy pick up but has lazy training habits etc hence his ongoing battle with weight.
And centrelink - the Port pickup wouldn't be Baird from the Kangaroos who has already signed according to my sources?

Drebin, I think I might have to retract my comments about North exceeding the salary cap.

Port will finish up making you look like misers.

Looks like there will be a record number of ex-AFL highly paid barmen at Port, all being paid peanuts to play football.

Well didn't really want to infer that but the facts tend to back that up redandblack. Given that they have Clayton and Waterhouse on big salaries allegedly, plus signing Bullen and Alvey and Baird - Bullen was a North target at one time but went way over the odds on his salary demand which Port were happy to pay, allegedly. Speaking to a couple of people in the "know" they are suggesting at least 2 thirds of Ports salary cap would have to be going to only 5 players and given that Clayton plus the other 3 signings will be allegedly the highest paid SANFL players you have to wonder. Interesting times ahead....

The word "allegedly" is fantastically used on these pages...

People can say any shite and throw in an allegedly and it's all watered down.

Bays missed Morrison because of a massive internal self-righteous business bungle...that's all I'll say on this matter. Cupido to Glenelg is highly unlikely...big difference between the club showing interest and the player doing so.

Thomas to South...in the words of the AFL campaign a few years back "yeah, I'd like to see that". Would be a hilarious turn up for Dogs fans to swallow  but dispute with coach aside, he is a CDFC product, and that's where he'll go, IF Richmond don't pick him up in the upcoming PSD.

BTW...and sorry to do a Drebin name-dropper here, but I emailed Greg Miller about who we're looking at in the PSD, and if Heffernan goes to Bombers with their first pick, which will be very likely if Pies snare Campo before Bombers can get him, then we'll look at picking up Thomas, now that Kasey Green is a Roo (via the National Draft) and Travis Gaspar decided to re-sign with the WCE.

Having said all that...this time last year I emailed Miller about picking up Trent Knobel...he said "that's our plan" and history says we picked him up.

Expect Thomas to FINALLY be in the right colours in 06...

Excuse me for asking what may be an obvious question Gents.

I thought Port Magpies were in a similar spot to Norwood and recently Sturt, ie, no pokie venue and little cash to splash on players.

WHERE THE HELL ARE THEY GETTING THE MONEY TO SPEND ON THESE PLAYERS????

Surely the Tim Ginever 'tin-rattling' of a few years back didn't reap such huge benefits?

Right player, wrong club...maybe look a bit further west than Centrals, and a bit further north than Sturt. Not much Bullen with this theory...and not so hard to Starboard!!

Why are you all against Woewodin? He is a Brownlow medallist, and sure he struggled in the AFL but the drop to the sanfl would mean he would be a top recruit. Personally, I think he can still do something at AFL level.
