Sunday morning - here we go. Bring on the football. C'mon Eagles just come out and play out of your skins. We need a hard, committed effort for four quarters if we get that we will win it's as simple as that. Accurate kicking in front of goal would be good as well.

GO THE MIGHTY EAGLES !!! :D :D :D

The Eagles have a very good team today, even without Colville and Passador. If we tackle hard and kick straight for goal, we will win!

For Glenelg to move forward they need at least 6 identical 6 foot 1 or 2 ginger nuts....thats the only way to succeed in SANFL finals...golden opportunity wasted, i can feel another 2000 shocker coming on next year....another Centrals vs eagles G.F???? yawn

Absolutely guttered...
Once again Glenelg gave too much of a lead to the opposition, which cost them the game...
Still collecting my thoughts, but I juts hope Glenelg, take the past 12 odd weeks into the
next season and push for a GF spot...

SD, on the Eagles I'll leave that too theior supporters.
Glenelg, Sherwood was fantastic all day, held McGregor very well. Kane & Fisher were good all day.
Mouse (Backwell) was good, had a brilliant last quarter until doing his ankle (his coming off turned the
game back toward the Eagles)...Ben Mules...carted off in the first quarter after the lights were turned off,
came back on and played a great captains game..gutsy he is and I can see why he is the captain of GFC...
BOG for the Bays Smith, great game big man...Sherwood second...
The joy of being on the hill drinking beer cannot be understated

Bad luck today Bays... now I'll be hoping like hell the Roosters can knock out the Eagles to save us all from the inevitable tedium of another ginger hybrids vs Dogs final.

Well done Eagles great win.
But once again bad kicking in the first term almost cost the EAGLES the game. That plus giving Glenelg some goals didn't help the situation.
Glenelg making mistakes helped the EAGLES that twit that shirt fronted Jarrad that resulted in a second kick on goals and regaining the lead.
And what was going on with Eagles players before the game started mind games to confuse the bays. Certainly got me excited seeing pretenko and P Stewart running around in yellow jumpers and kicking the ball on the oval.

Well done EAGLES bring back North.

What a fantastic game of footy and what a great day. Close to 15,000 watched two quality games at an Adelaide Oval bathed in sunshine.

Well done to the Eagles. What a gutsy effort to withstand the relentless pressure Glenelg put on all day to fight out a win in the dying seconds of the match. Glenelg were top quality opposition and either side would have been worthy winners.

The Eagles started well, but once again could not convert their efforts into goals. A couple late in the first quarter gave a handy margin at quarter time, but probably not the lead they would have wanted. The tone was set for the day when a gutsy clash of bodies between Mules and Symmons ended up with Mules going off on a stretcher looking in all sorts of trouble. An all-in errupted, which resulted in Glenelg gaining a 75m penalty. Mules later came back on and took a terrific mark on the members wing going back with the flight. No wonder he is captain.

Glenelg quickly closed the gap in the 2nd and from there started to gain control, much like the Woodville Oval clash a few weeks ago. Some poor discipline handed Glenelg a goal and they kept their lead until after the half time siren when Jarrad was gifted a second shot on goal after some stupid play by the Glenelg player.

The Eagles started the Premiership quarter well, kicking a couple of goals, but then Glenelg took control of the game once again and peppered the goals. This was probably the most significant period of the match. Glenelg missed opportunity after opportunity and eventually the Eagles were able to score a goal against the run of play and take a 19 point lead into 3 quarter time.

Glenelg hit back in the last quarter with 2 quick goals and from there it was a dire struggle till the end. McConnell going off with a hammy late in the 3rd and some sore looking Glenelg players gave an indication maybe the Eagles would be able to run out the game better, but to Glenelg's credit they kept on coming. The winning moment came with 10 seconds to go on the clock when Symmons played the percentages and got the ball moving forward at all costs with a soccer off the ground. Luck was with us and Schwarze played in front and held on to a chest mark directly out from goal and kicked the sealer.

For the Eagles I thought McKenzie was the best on ground. Not only did he silence the dangerous Kirkby, but was able to mop up and rebound on countless occasions. Treeby was sensational on the wing and must have kicked about 4 goals. Jarrad was also very good this week with a welcome return to form. Peter Fiacchi, Powell and Cooper were gutsy all day and kept the pressure on and Bernie Vince played a solid 4 quarters of footy and was important through the midfield.

The Eagles have used their get out of jail card and will be looking forward to taking on North next week for another crack at a premiership. Anything is possible.

BTW - to give credit where it is due, I thought the umpiring was a lot better today in the Eagles/Glenelg game. Probably as good as it has been all season. Didn't think it was quite as good in the second game today, but a massive improvement on last week.

Where are the eagles supporters, didn't you merge with two clubs, surely you can get more people to the game than what you did today. Surprised me, i didn't stick around for the other game last week, now i know what wedgie was talking about last week...Thought that we where well supported today, the wagon was nearly full. Well done to the eagles on a good win.

yep have to agree....there were somethings that I saw today from a Glenelg perspective that i didn't agree with but at teh same time I saw a few decision missed that went against the Eagles...

In teh last qtr they let the game go, which was good.

yep no probs with the umps this week, mind you as an umpire I saw nothing majorly wrong last week...
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!
