If he wants to change clubs during contract period then a fee applies. It what was forced upon soccer when a guy called Bosman challenged transfer fees when uncontracted and on. Any challenge in court would win, Maybe a fee for juniors should apply.

Soccer, AFL and other codes don't work to zones though

And that justifies 25K transfers JK. A player picked in the draft demands less compo that local clubs ask for average players. I don't think rookie players to AFL clubs demand any compo such as is the bizarre nature of our systems.
Soccer clubs have academies and such all over the world but if a player goes out of contract he just moves on. I feel if the AFL ever had a challenge they wold never have a leg to stand on.

A fee for Juniors does apply from another clubs zone - 5K up front and then I think? 10K on their first league game if they get that far. Sometimes though, clubs swap players and agree to no transfer of $$$. Ie) Craig Vozzo was swapped with S. Rehn - Sometimes you win with swaps :)

Glenelg have signed Liam McBean from Richmond 202cm ruckman fwd. Have also signed Tom Schott from Westies and Jack Casey fwd from Kalangadoo. Jack played 1 reserves game this year and kicked 4 goals.

There've been challenges.

Didn't say it justified or otherwise mate, just pointing out a fairly significant fundamental difference.

My mail from pretty close to the source is that Hannath will be remaining in Perth to try and resurrect his AFL career.

Delisted Fremantle ruckman Jack Hannath has already committed to returning to his native South Australia after being courted by several WAFL clubs, including Perth.

I would go with Daisy here as I reckon his source is immediate family. Don't believe what you read in the media.

Hannath wants to play in the SANFL, it's all up to Centrals as to whether or not he joins Us. Simple as that.
Once again, loyalty takes the back seat & money steps in.

With the amount of cash freed up at Woodville I'd say they'll definitely be in the mix!

Hopefully he successfully negotiates the dreaded switch to the bike at Kilkenny.

Then clearly he might just be down the parade if not at a coffee shop....

If he gets to Cibo then the plot will be thick.....

He can find a spare pushbike at Findon.
