I don't disagree with your impression of the SANFL leadership BOTB.......Olsen is spineless, and I doubt any of the Commission would have the slightest clue of the adversities of running an SANFL club on a daily basis. The problem is, the AFL does things by stealth. If you don't like it, tough luck, is their modes operandi. The AFL has the SANFL clubs jumping through hoops, but only as a result of the SANFL administration rolling over when ever challenged.

Will be interesting to see which mature age players getting Rookied tomorrow...

I suspect the likes of Glenn, Baulderstone, Panos and Brooksby, who trained with Essendon recently...

What's wrong here?
Only 8 selected compared over 42 in Victoria.
I expect the same for the rookies.

That's easy to answer. The AFL pours $6 million into the Victorian Under 18 competition. - they have to justify it. Also, the payment system had changed for players recruited from S.A under the 'equalisation' system......that's economic rationalism talk for "Let's screw the SANFL a bit more." Now you get a flat $50K regardless of whether you have any drafted or not. Previously, you received up to $50K per player if they went onto play 50 games. Now the SANFL gets $400K to distribute for game development. Total rip off. Norwood who had none drafted get $50K. Sturt and Glenelg who both had 2 drafted get $50 also.

I thought the Sanfl clubs votes that in - not the case?

Baulderstone can't jump and didn't seem to be able to beat either ex AFL players Graham from the Crows or Renouf from the Power. Can't really work out what he offers to an AFL team. Brooksby is the go.

I agree. He struggles with strong bodied opponents, having his colours lowered by Brooksby, Kurtze and Graham. Doesn't take contested marks. Is a beautiful kick and good link up player but I'm not sure that's what an AFL club would be after.

Yeah I think he'll get taken, but I have my doubts about how successful he'll be. Eventually big fellas have to be able to stand their ground and take a contested overhead grab.

Essendon have taken former Crow Shaun McKernan as a Rookie, so he wont be back in the SANFL...

Total selections are now up with the rookie list.
Why is SA doing so really poorly in the draft and rookies?
Taken from SA including senior AFL players recycled
are SA 18 from Victoria 74.
That's 4 to 1.
To my mind a pretty disappointing result.

Where will Jake Johansen play in 2015. Must play regular league games to bring on his game. Would this happen at the Magpies?
Believe delisted Carlton player and ex magpie WILL be playing for the Magpies in 2015!!!!!!!!

Despite Jake's obvious talents, I think he is simply too small to be looked at. 170cm / 60 kg. His last, IMO, chance will be next year with another 4-5 kg on his frame and yes, he may need to move to play SANFL league elsewhere if he wants a crack at AFL level as I think his opportunities at SANFL league level with the Magpies will be few and far between.

He is similar to Caleb Daniel at 167/66 and Boomer Harvey is 172/75, both have more than 6kg on him.

Which is funny because he's possibly the best player they've produced in the last few years.

Was wondering is they where going to be able to replace there "leadership player" seen as they have $ummerton on a back ended contract. Surely if Johansen is fair dinkum about his career he will head to another SANFL club or move interstate wont play much for the power reserves next year and only getting $400 would be well under what he could get somewhere else.
