You're overlooking the extra promotion the afl team has put in to this game and of course the million dollar media coverage.

Feel sorry for West, how many of their own developed players are now playing against them today? Snelling and Bonner?
Throw in the other SANFL players pilfered from other teams, Eddy, Irra, Leinert, Hewett.

Supporters yes, club no. The spineless directors voted them in. Sorry wrong thread....
On the game, isnt it great to see an "sanfl" team with such a small injury list. As all the pro lobbyists predicted the rigours of AFL footy is really smashing the teams competitiveness having to play so many "top ups".
Back to the game... lovely weather.

Agreed. Two years ago we lost to port at richmond by 12 goals them flogged them in a semi final on our way to a premiership. We need to get our act together .Its not just port we cant compete against its most teams.

Somethings got to give we cant keep going like this.

That was Port's 3rd biggest win ever against West; 2nd biggest ever against West at Alberton (biggest is 160 points in 1903).

3233 or 3323? Both figures have been reported on this thread.

This is in no way of being disrespectful to Mickan, but I have heard a rumour that "THE PORPS" will be taking over his duties in the very near future.
Anyone else heard this?

Was only thinking about this the other day, given Mickan's health issues surely he is only going to see out his current contract then take a back seat??

It's the SANFL mate, what more experience do you need than being an ex AFL player, and a SANFL premiership player?

We have won 2 games since the premiership and about 25 losses. I have said previously that we were lucky to win the premiership in 2015, not the best team of the year just was the best team on the day. I cannot say I have ever been a great fan of MM as a coach but as a past champion player of the club, premiership coach and with his illness he does deserve to go on his terms (thanks to testy for reminding me of that). The club doesn't deserve to sack him but IMO he should stand down on his own accord.

Certainly there is another at the club who should stand down for the good of the club.

The new President Lee Harradine, someone I seem to butt heads with (how surprising ;) ) does deserve a bit of credit for the work he is doing in the background. I actually think he is starting to listen which IMO has been one of his downfalls in the past.

Gavin Colville is the reserves coach and should take over if he does decide to stand down.

League

Half time

North 4.4

Glenelg 7.8

North very lucky not to be close to 10 goals down

North 4.4 to Bays 7.8 at half time. Even first term. Bays with the bulk of the play in the second but a mite wasteful up forwards.
