Your information is incorrect.
Norwood were tying to recruit God and his son .... not Godden !

Scott Bassett who was goings overseas for twelve months is now staying. I don't think he will be the head coach but an important piece in the jigsaws.

Interesting situation for Norwood.

Obviously Nathan Bassett developed, honed and drummed in a very clear game plan based on the team and not the individual with the results speaking for themselves.

Naturally, the club would want to see that continue into the future but surely whoever gets the gig will want to put their stamp on the job and not just follow someone else's game plan.

It's not as easy as saying, here's the blueprint can you just follow it without question please.

I suppose 'legs supporters don't give a faark as long as they keep winning in October.

Why isn't it? With Centrals, the club owns the game plan not the coach.

Unlikley.

Russell Ebert has a great role with the PAFC Community program and Brett is not likely to play at SANFL level again.

Nice one.

Could both your reigns end in 2014?

Surely Scott Bassett is in with a strong chance?

That's the plan ...

I think the thing that kept Centrals going so long in their glory days was that the game style was maintained and the 3 or 4 coaches who won flags were staying with that style.
Norwood employ a game plan the same through all grades and also should look to continue a successful formula for years to come. That is why most are keen to have someone who has been through the system to come on board. I like Shawn Rehn but think he might be a bit too far into left field.
Think Ben would want a break but Tim W would fit the mold IMHO.

Shawn Rehn got West to a GF and I do enjoy listening to him talk on radio .... seems to speak a lot of sense !

Who knows Flanders. We've lost a lot of players. Can't comment on the politcal scene back home though.

I'm not saying this should rule him out but he just got sacked by the Power and AFL teams have a million assistant coaches...

The Power have no money and wanted that other assistant very badly. Could not keep both.

He had a very good team of young players that year. If you want your players well rested after half time, he is your man. Half time speaches use to put the players to sleep ;)

Surely Norwood would want to make an announcement soon on who there coach will be. They wouldn't want to leave it into pre-season. When is an announcement expected to be made?

We'll know by next week at the latest .. It's not causing any harm at present. The football department will still be getting their ducks in a row in talking to potential new players, re-contracting existing players etc, and a portion of that is still dependent on the AFL drafts which are 2 weeks away.

AFL draft day is the worst day of the year. Followed by the Rookie draft which in reality is probably WORSE than the first draft !

The coaching appointment is taking too long for me. You would think some potential players would like to know who their coach is going to be before they sign on.

You're not Robinson Crusoe on the losing players front.
I'd reckon a lot of sides will only start with 10 blokes at most who played in their last game of the season due to AFL/AFL res/retirements/general attrition. We're going to see the biggest turnover we ever had - I suspect bigger than 1991.

Political scene? Jay Dubya has a battle on his hands. It's gonna get dirty, I reckon.
