And 6 goals is a personal best by McGregor for the Eagles. His previous best was 4 goals on three occasions.

Just a few points ;
1. The Power and the Crows cannot make a club play anyone in their League side or in a certain position so Sloane earned his spot -end of story.
2. Im not that disappointed with Norths overall performance. We took the points in 3 quarters but suffered a technical knock out in the 3rd.
3. We will be greatly improved with Gill, Schwarze and a few others back fairly soon.
4. David Clarke -no I better stop there because his continued selection is embarrassing

In summary the Eags were too good when it mattered on the day.

but how many times has an SANFL player kicked 6 goals in a qtr? - knowing that the world SANFL record is 23 goals in a game (Bos Daly & K Farmer)

PS Healy out-coached today - only his 5th senior coaching gig v Fuller (how many?) But that will come with experience - school of hard knocks.

I was talking about his game tally; I know there has been more kicked in a quarter. Ken Farmer would have done it, Fred Phillis kicked 8 in one of the quarters of the 1975 match vs Central and Bruce Schultz has also kicked 8.

Sounds like a great game. Unfortunately I could only listen to the last quarter on Life FM and was listening nervously as North came back, as they seem to do against us.

Kenny Six goals?, and all in the one quarter. Just Imagine Healy after three, then four, then 5, then 6! Perhaps try & tighten up or drop a man back, or was he just on Fire? Good Photo NFC Well Done by the big fella, and who said you were finished? Was he kicking them from 40 plus metres out?

Shall be at Oval Ave next week for the Shearman Cup Clash.

How many goals did Gill kick for NA in that quarter a few years ago against Sturt when standing Thurstans? Was it 5?

You would have to ask one of the North fans that, I know it was at least 5.

I have a feeling it was 6. Nick Gills 2nd quarter finished off the game by half time.

Honestly i am staggered by the negativity towards Clarke. He was far from North's worst and has been a reasonable contributer so far this year. The guy is coming back fro a long time out of the game. Give him a break.

The thing is mate us true die-hard North supporters are getting pretty intolerant of waiting for very well paid imports to "work into their role" at the expense of our "free" locally developed juniors - for god's sake we have not had a premiership since 1991 (that is 18 years) so please Rod don't give me that "reasonable contributer (sic) so far this year" shite re Clarke (I will pull out his stats if you like since he joined NAFC but I would rather not) so don't make excuses for sub-standard performances because we as true long time supporters will no longer accept that from the current regime.

It is truly time fror change if that is the case.

Agree MagareyLegend 100% !!!!!!!!!
I suggested he was finished during the "off" season but was abused for being harsh whereas I just thought I was being a REALIST.

He kicked 8 for the game, not sure how many in that third 1/4, North looked gone at 1/2 time, by time on in the 3rd didn't look like losing

Well done to the Eagles - despite a few very good players out they are a genuine contender. Kenny's third term was brilliant.

I cant work out why Damon White started the 2nd half up fwd when the defense had been on top in the first half then got moved back when the Eagles had all the run and McGregor was on fire!

Woeful 3rd term by North in terms of tackling, chasing, pressure as mentioned in the paper by Healy who mentioned that for the first time this year we had 5 passengers. Not too hard to work out those he is referring too!

Sloane was way out of his depth and I am positive he only played because of Tapscott was missing due to bloody college Footy and we had Archard also missing. Wade Thompson??? looked good in the AFL pre-season but has hardly had a sniff for North. He is lazy and doesn't chase or put pressure on in the fwd line and with his pace he could do some damage. Healy should show him some tapes of what Matty Campbell does playing that role.

Pfieffer and K . Thompson - too soft and front runners. Zac Millar - has all the skills and smarts but sometimes his head is not in the game!

I thought David Clarke palyed a pretty good game and I'm suprised by constant criticism of him.

We lacked another key fwd option today and in reality with Schwarze out - Schubert should have been selected to play up and back if needed which was the case with White going fwd.

P.S. For your info whufc - Allan was our best and was BOG IMO, he certainly would have got the MM votes if we had won. 27 kicks 6 marks 12 handballs - 99 percent spot on re his disposal.

Adam Richardson kicked 7 in the first quarter against South at Noarlunga one day IIRC.

Our third quarter absolutely killed us. Rory Sloane what was he doing he really caused a four goal turn around for us. He should have kicked 1 goal and passed off another but both went straight to Eagles players who in turn kicked goals.

But what was Tony Day doing in the last Quarter. What was the free kick paid for after Eagles had kicked a point. I didn't know I was sitting behind the goals and the Eagles player didn't even know what it was for. Then Miller (I think that is who it was) picked up the ball got tackled straight away (and it was very high) and Day paid Holding the Ball and the Eagles kicked a goal. Two free kicks which resulted in goals.

As much as I hated the umpiring in the last quarter our third quarter is what lost us the game.

Ah, but drebin, apparently the "true die hard supporters" and "true long term supporters" like MagareyLegend don't agree, so far be it for people like you or I to have an opinion that differs.

It was a four goal turnaround because they were 2 goals that North should have got but the ball went straight down to the other end and the Eagles got a goal. So North didn't get 2 goals and the Eagles got two goals. 2+2 = 4.

One of the shots wouldn't have been further than 25 out and he didn't even make the distance.
