I dont think that's really an issue anyway Phil (I know you're not saying it is) ... There are so many moments in a game where it is one or lost, to isolate just 1 is folly.

As a poster said above, good sides win close games .. It's just that whole belief and experience thing, the Doggies just know how to get a win (and believe they're going to get it) and Norwood need to learn that as Im sure many other teams do.

IF (hate using that word) Norwood can maintain that form and even enhance it, we should be able to compete with any team going around.

Anyone else think young O'Hara has a touch of Didak at the same age about him?

Spot on re O'Hara. Also in the GF I don't think he missed a target, other than one shot on goal.
Re what Laird said. He said a lot, which I think was right. Didn't Hill say he thought Norwood lost it rather than Centrals winning it ? Anyway a good competitive game. Norwood are looking dangerous.

O'Hara is fast becoming one of my fave Dogs. Love his attack on the footy!

Given the dominance of the smaller man's place in AFL footy these days, even as key forwards, I would have thought he'd really be under the microscope of some of the AFL clubs ... Whilst slightly different players, look at the impact of Nahas at Richmond - Late draft pick, late debut, yet looks more at home and capable than half the blokes on their list.

To Grahaml, it might be a good idea to respect your opposition as the glory days won't last forever, but that's up to you.

The legs looked like getting blown out of the water but managed to claw back a 5 goal deficit ... you don't do that without playing some very good footy.

The dogs were lucky to win and good luck to them, but if the legs continue that form from the 2nd (against the good AND not so good teams), they will be right up there.

... and did anyone else notice that the Gowans lost it a bit when put under pressure?

I really enjoyed this game.

I thought that Norwood were the toughest opposition that I have seen play the doggies for a while. I liked the way that they were hard at the ball and tackled well. I think that is why some of our disposals in the 2nd half went astray - the pressure that Norwood were putting on us.

If Norwood can keep up that standard of play I think they will finish top 3 and we will be seeing them in September maybe even October.
We used to be good :-(

What, like in the heat of finals battle?

I wouldn't say they lose it under pressure. They're constantly losing it when annoyed by their own performance or that of their team-mates.
Others will have a different view point though.

No doubt the Gowans have proved their worth over the years, and yes this obviously includes big finals games.

They also seem to have a perverse motivation technique that makes them play well when they're angry, even at each other ... call it a McEnroe syndrome if you like.

But, not withstanding all that, if someone else makes them angry (rather than self inflicted), it makes interesting viewing.

He is no Trev Hill but he is alright.

Maybe Hill should of tried juniper before round 6 and you wouldnt be 2-4. Just a suggestion.

Still not happy my banner idea was knocked back.

So Trev is gone for 2010 with Nathan Bassett to take over.

Does anyone think that will help Norwood. ???

To a degree yes although Bass would be a bit of an unknown proposition himself.

God help Norwood if the person often named on here as their next coach actually does end up in the job. Dummy spits on and off the field, and a huge degree of arrogance towards most people won't help him now he is looking to coach. Still, time may change him.

What's the way someone played got to do with how they might coach?

And Im pretty sure you'll still see some new faces at Norwood next season UKF
