Their supporters invading the pitch when they were 19 points p didn't help either, those Sturt supporters must be feeling terrible and rightly so.

Listening on the radio whilst washing the cars today, gee Sturt had all the momentum and then bang away it goes.

Well done sturt supprters you cost your side the game today, hope you can look Rick and the boys in the face.

In the third and last qtrs it was interesting how many times the familiar names came up, Thomas, Slade, McCabe, Gowans(s).

Considering you were not at the game you are hardly in a position to make that judgement TM.
Chambers 100th goal came in the 2nd quarter.
At half time Sturt were up by 3 points,
At 3/4 time Sturt were up by 23 points .
Lost the game by 3 points more than an hour after the ground invasion.
Game was lost by the players on the field not the spectators who entered the arena.
p.s they weren't all Sturt supporters,I saw plenty of Port and Norwood scarves out there too.

Correct. The loss had nothing to do with the crowd invasion (not that I ran out there and not that I think it helped us any). It had to do with a lack of intensity and accountability in the last quarter. The turn over in the second qtr when Feast was lining up right in front was the biggest momentum swinger... Who was the player that gave that free away  ? I can't see us recovering from this...

As an independent observer i thought Roy Laird's move of Schell to forward lines was the winning move - tall target that made Sturt have to rearrange defense.

As a Sturt fan I don't know who I prefer to win out of Glg & CD next week. First of all Sturt have to beat a Weatherald-inspired Nwd (geez I hope scores aren't close in the last qtr..) but then is it better for Sturt to play CD again in the Prelim and then be a battered & bruised outfit to play Glg a week later or should Sturt take on CD in the GF and hopefully get Barnaby French into the team...

how can you say that with confidence ? because when was the last time sturt beat glenelg ?

To me Glenelg weren't quite firing on all cylinders in the past month and I can't see them as being strong enough to beat CD in a finals match. The last Sturt/Glg match at the Bay was a great day for the SANFL comp and Sturt with at least 6 top line players missing that day lost it by only a small margin against Glenelg who were playing at their best at the time. I would be happy for Glenelg to be premiers if Sturt miss out - but a worthy minor premier side shouldn't lose twice in the season to teams like South !!!

Was Feast any certainty to kick a goal, what's his track record like 20 metres out, straight in front, at Adelaide Oval......Spelly ?

well yeah we're happy south aren't there as they seem to know how to beat us (perhaps it is a match up thing)

as for form well reading the budget today 4 of the finals teams have won (before today) 7 of their last 10 matches while norwoods record is 5 wins, as bart cummings says you can't keep him at 100% in every start as factors come into it...the same goes for footy

the team needs to play a tougher type of game - not just rely on skills. bring on norwood next week - I can see a different more tougher sturt team next week - I hope!

Yeah maybe costing the game is a bit harsh, but gee you had all the momentum, the game stops Centrals players gather together regroup discuss tactics - following a few minor scores Centrals get three quick goals to go in 3 pts down at 1/2 time.

Gee imagine if there wasn't a break in play at that point. if it wasn't the most pivotal moment in the game it was damn close.

Also I also thought Sturt allowed themselves to to get sucked in to the perfectly legal niggle, scragging and verbals of Centrals usual culprits. I am sure Rubbers will be discussing that at tomorrow nights meeting - don't get sucked in, keep attacking the footy and the body. Got to be first in like we were in the 1st 2 rounds this year.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Woeful last quarter choke by Sturt it pains me to say. Congrats to the Dogs, and the outstanding self-belief possessed by the team...it pains me even more to say

Interesting suggestion bayman.Don't Sturt play Glenelg reserves next week?

Does anybody have a time/venue for the reserves?

Not sure how we pinched that one...Belief & fitness can only take you so far when the unforced error rate is as high as I can remember seeing for some time.

Though both sides were far too defensive against the wind. The previous game showed that scoring into the breeze was not that hard.

I'm guessing our flooding tactics were an attempt to turn the game into a slog, back our fitness and force the game to be played more on our terms. I guess there is an argument to say it worked, but only just.

Much improvement needed on the skill front and finishing if we are to beat Glenelg next week.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. The journey this club has taken me on is one I will treasure to the grave.
Players win touches, Teams win matches, Clubs win Premierships.

yes they do & venue tba tomorrow

btw it has nothing to do with who plays who it is a comment that says the lack of disciplined by him cost sturt almost a certain goal & it led to a central goal & that is why i would 'drop him' if i was coach, lets face it the best way to 'square up' is to win the game

Find me a team with a better win-loss ratio than 16-4 and I'll show you a side more worthy of the minor premiership than Glenelg.

From watching it on the idiot box, I think it was intensity and desperation winning out over skills. I think Sturt had the better skills and the better system up forward but Central played as if they had the will to win and the belief that if they kept on plugging away they could get there. Am still thinking our skills could improve much on what we showed today.
Also congratulations to Norwood - great to see the two clubs wearing Red, White and Blue win!
