I think I'd like to see Luke Cowan on the half forward line. We seemed to "break down" there a few times with no one presenting. I guess it would have to be at the expense of either Giles or Westhoff. Although tough call as I'd like to see Westhoff hold his spot. Maybe Luke and Buckets to ruck ?

CK!

A conclusive reason why CD have won nearly all of the night games at Elizabeth is the allegedly sub-standard inappropriate lighting

Yes, that is right. Centrals play in a brighter light than their opposition.

Hey SP, I hear you nearly missed your bus on Saturday night.
Would the poor lighting account for that?

Would rather have "allegedly sub-standard inappropriate lighting", then "allegedly sub-standard inappropriate dog shit"....

I did nearly miss my bus.

Some Goose Official shut the Outer gates 10 mins after the game concluded.

At least we shut our gates instead of packing them on a truck at the end of a game.

I don't think the lighting would be a problem for the players, it's more of a spectating issue. It's pretty much the same at Norwood, can be difficult to see the other side of the ground, probably more so at Elizabeth being a bigger ground. I am sure the players don't have a complaint though.
Maybe I'm just getting old !!
All in all though, I thought it was a good game Saturday night, looking forward to the clash this weekend. Both teams are in good form , should be a good finals series.

Projected image of how Elizabeth oval would look if the gates were temporarily removed for a week:

Interestingly the surface looks better in this picture...

Yes its a cunning tactic. Some clubs water their oval before a game we supply inappropriate lighting (allegedly)

Oh and the other thing is since the lights have been put in we have been either 1st or second for the season 8)

The 'Dogs certainly have built a great record in their home night matches. Another edge against visiting teams. As I posted earlier. the lights only affect the spectating IMO. Well done to their administration in having the balls to spend some coin on lights, get it through council & give them even more success. I thought Saturday was Sturts best chance to score a win their in years, but I was by no means confident.

The money they spent on lighting must be what they saved from not watering. There is an obvious lack of it at Elizabeth-can't recall ever seeing a dustbowl like the centre on sat night. What happened?? Maybe they don't have access to bore water or they are an odd street number and watering was not allowed until Sunday morning?

We have a great record during day games as well, how do you account for that? Please Sturd supporters, invent some stupid sour-graped whinge to explain this fact!

It rained 4 days earlier, would anyone really expect an oval needed watering? Try whinging about the Sturt player who backed out of contests instead of irrelevant things that had no impact on the result.

Who was the player you mentioned, smac? I saw a few absolute sitter marks dropped which cost Sturt a couple of goals, but I didn't see anything like what you have described.

I think the only way to settle this properly if for both teams to go out next Sunday and beat the living shitcase out of each other - last man standing and all that...

No guts no glory...

Once more onto the breech dear friends...
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!
