Disappointing day out.

One thing we have been guilty of for at least the last few years is being slow to learn. It took us a few rounds to get used to the changes in the holding/chop out rules a few years ago, it takes us a long time to adapt whenever the umpires pay free kicks consistently to the team playing in front - our game plan relies on umpires letting the game go to a large extent and we don't adapt when that changes.

Hopefully the lessons are being learned at the moment, particularly in respect of that effort at the start of the 3rd quarter. Anyone suggesting that came from Lairdy is very mistaken - not the case at all.

Eagles thoroughly deserved the win - they were happy to run all day, regardless of whether they had the ball, we had the ball, or whether it was in dispute. That's what wins footy games.

I've been saying all season that the Eagles are a win like this away from really getting their season back on track.

I can't believe the dismal scoreline, but the Eagles are that type of side...they should round out the 5 you'd think.

I meant to add to my last post.

Eagles are the best side I have seen this year, without question.

I think with the inclusion of players like Wright and Klun it added that something that was missing from the line up.

At least one Torrens supporter had the courage and integrity to apologise for the disgraceful comments made by some alleged 'fans' last week...

A good win by the eagles but it will be in vain if we lose next week ! The three things iv been saying all year schwartze at FF grocke at CHF our best 2 forwards at the club by the length of highway 1 and mckenzie in the middle ! If all the players put in and showed guts like rimington and voice week in and week out we would be a better team , he should be a future captain of the club ! It makes a difference with on ballers that want the ball ie rimmo, klun , wright and even pavlich not the crap we had in the early part of the year to get the ball down to the forwards . Hope ronnie learnt something on saturday, leave schwarze at FF grocke at CHF and mckenzie in the middle

My only querry on Grocke at CHF is why is he always playing on ?Is it an instruction from Ron ? And Schwarze the best spot for him is at FF .All he has to do is get/mark the ball and kick goals .down back he has to think to much leave him at FF.And he is such a great FF he can out mark5 Roosters or Four dogs players why move him. When Passador comes back play him at HF make the other coach think about who is standing who.
Rimmington is playing some damn good football this year .Please WWT do not let him go home !!!
Klun and Wright ad something to the team.Klun did something in the first quarter not seen since 2006.He roved the ball off of Ben Schwarze and kicked a goal.Yippee for small forwards
Broadbent an absolute Class act .
Kenny Mac playing the best football of his SANFL Career.
But they all need to produce that game every week !!!!

One would think that Sturt don't have any ginger players perhaps one should look at ones own team .Someone named smith has ORANGE hair for sturt.
Hey if sticking the knife in gets results like yesterday why not.But I for 1 do not want to sit at oval ave and knife the coach/team.I want to watch winning football like yesterday !!!
Even the two's played a better style but fell at the final term.

Apologise to who the players then you have it .They made me wear egg on my face yesterday and I was happy to do so .
Ron no I will not apologise just yet .From what I have been told and read on here I am still not 100 percent happy with his work ethic as a coach is all there just yet.
But the players yes I will do a RUDD and say I am sorry :prayer:
And to re post what I wrote in another post I am very Happy that Luke Jarrad is making me look silly for my comments the other week

But Wedgie you saw Schwarze at Full forward in round 1 you knew what he could do up there.
The key was getting the ball out of centre and getting into the forward line.which no matter what the scoreboard says was hard to do .with about 18 Centrals players standing in the eagles forward line.

What a big week it's been in footy. What a display by all 21 players this week. At times I thought I must have been at the wrong game. It was a huge turn around from the style of play that we've seen in the past few weeks. It was fantastic to watch - could that be the turning point of our season. It was the first four quarter perormance season to date and probably our most dominant display since the 2006 grand final against the same opponent. This win also marked our biggest winning margin (84) against the Dogs and also our first win against them since the 2006 GF which was our previous high winning margin (76)

Could this possibly be signs of good things to come ?

Which Eagles side will front up to play Port next week ?
