As for the Hodges ankle injury, I've seen the aftermath. Massive scar tissue that really makes a mess of his Premiership Tattoo.

**squirms** Yep I remember that..

Hodges only has 1 premiership tattoo?

Seeing David Huttons dangling dislocated elbow in 95 was pretty bad in terms of a non-leg related injury.

EDIT: Helps to read the whole thread.

Yeah, the latter rounds of 95. In terms of facial injuries that would be up there. Broken jaw, cheekbone and his nose was at right angles.

I remember in an interview after it happened with Roger he said he knew he was in trouble when he tried to put his mouthguard back in and it wouldnt fit.

Agree with Greg Edwards injury - was there that day.

But Neil Sache's injury must be the worst one I have heard about - he was made a paraplegic

Quadriplegic.

Agree with the very sad tragic injury to Neil Sachse. The reason I did not mention it was that this thread was about SANFL injuries. Sachse sustained his in the VFL.

Hey Smac,

You're right mate...

We must have already got through to the GF and that was when the SANFL was only playing the Prelim' at Adelaide Oval...

It was the Qualifying Final

Tregenza was one of them and the other one's name escapes me. I think he may have ended his career early due to Chronic Fatigue Syndrome???

As mentioned earlier it was Todd Davey, and I don't recall him suffering CFS.

One of the worst i've seen was back in the early/mid eighties. Souths Darren Troy had his head over the ball and was bumped head high by an oncoming player. Troy hit the deck and did'nt get up- unlike him- he was as tough as ol' boots. He began fitting/ convulsing while still on the ground. He had obviously swallowed his tongue.A south trainer rushed to his assistance and armed with some special tool pulled the tongue back out of his throat- probably saving his life.
Not a pretty sight.
