They would have to move him down back. How else are they going to cover the fire power of Schwarze, Salter and Groecke.

The choice is between a player who kicked 9 goals in the reserves last week and a player who kicked 8 in the LEAGUE game against North. I believe Passador can only play at FF. If Schwarze is not at the goal front and the main target he seems to sulk........lets see how it goes this week. Although Schwarze only kicked one goal last week I think it would be harsh to get rid of him.

Mickyj where did you get the notion that the Eagles would take four weeks to warm up and then go like a bull at a gate. Pre-season I clearly remember getting an email from coach Fuller lauding our tough, full-on pre-season and that we would "hit the ground running at the start of the season" we have certainly hit the ground but have
forgotten the running part.

Got the same email  .Also got an email with this weeks side then an hour or so latter a different team is on the WWT website. :?
Was told last week at the ground by a source  That the injuries the senior players have would stuff up the side for the first four weeks .And after that it would be all go .Of course there is so much crap being said around the ground by fans etc one takes what one is told with a grain of salt.
But after last weeks perfromance it stuck in my head what I was told.

I think last weeks game plan fell apart when Schwarze went off after getting reported .When all that happened the Eagles seemed to lose direction when going for goal and couldnt get the ball either.
But I think with his two other big forwards IF the ball comes out of centre certainly hope it will be a different ending this week.

There's your first mistake ferret believing Passa can only play at FF. He is definately a better player than that. With Schwarze in the side I agree you have him at FF but I would be tempted to even run Passa around a HFF or even at a stretch give him a run for a while on the wing. Passa is not a 1 dimensional player and up forward he does more to keep the ball in the zone than Schwarze does.

Wonder if Tim will keep him up forward for 1 quarter and give the eagles a head start .He's done it before .
Whoever he doesn't stand could well have a field day .

And keeping Passador in the two's could be a smart move in one way,I'm not saying it is just thinking aloud .Which fullback really really troubles Passador ,Achee .

Ah Chee definitely has a physical and psychological advantage over Passador.

In this weekends budget Ron Fuller says "I don't subscribe to the theory you win early games and then have a few losses. I want to win every game." We have been told we have much better depth this year so with injuries we should be winning.

Eaglehaslanded - Passador on a wing or HF flank you must be joking...he can't run. Pas. tries to chase but never ever catches anyone.
More than happy to have him at FF.

Port have never been 0-4 to start the season. Port have lost the first three matches in a season in 1920, 1975, 2003 and 2004.

Schwarze was hardly in any contests on the weekend, because the ball was delivered into the pocket most of the time, or it wasn't passed in his direction. It's not the forward line I'm concerned about, it's the two players who would give the midfield a huge boost - Cicolella and Symmonds. Also the backline looks too inexperienced.

In the end, it doesn't matter who is and isn't picked. As long as the Eagles win and every player gives their all in every contest. Something which didn't happen against North and obviously didn't happen last week. Lets get our season up and going at Woodville tomorrow!

I reckon the Eagles reserves side would beat the Eagles league side by 3 to 4 goals.

Woodville Oval looks magnificent - tonight it looked in the best condition i've seen for a long time - the playing surface should assist for excellent footy to be played.

The new club logo really stands out on the clubhouse buildings - looks fantastic.

The mounds are well grassed BUT the new training lights that went up last week the cherry picker has caused some damage to the mound in the south-eastern pocket - more dirt than grass and the eastern terrace is cut in half - the back 3 steps are fenced off as the cherry picker as it moved cracked the paving. Northern and western sides and south west for the family friendly area all good.

Merchandise & memberships available at the ground - lets hope for a big crowd even though the TV game.

All the boys looked eager to go tonight and Trent H with his beard looks a little different - Trent very excited to be playing footy and stated he is really pleased to be able to wear the Eagle again.

No. In fact, 2006 was the first time a 0-2 start was registered.

Well I'm back from Uk and Belgium , looking forward to seeing my first game of the season ( jet laggged and all ).

Woodville Oval , Saturday football, all is good in the world.

Easy do we what we did last week - midfield dominance means the ball doesn't get down there or if it does it comes in nice and slow so the defenders can more easily stop teh forwards from getting it.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!
