1. The fact that I DON'T have the 'Net @ home might be the reason I only post between 8am & 4pm everyday, but I will let you have your 'win'

2. To say that I have upset people, GREAT... @ least you are ALL commenting... DON'T give a shite if you hate me... THAT'S what its about 8)

3. At least I HAVE the BALLS to STAND by my convictions/comments & ACKNOWLEDGE any mistakes made (i.e. Sturt beating Port) :)

4. It is somewhat mystifying to me that an OPPOSING opinion is considered "diatribe" yet constant spruking about AVERAGE team performance is considered the 'norm' & 'quality' posting

5. As for going to the game instead of listening... I (like many people) prefer to GO to the match & LISTEN to the radio, just so I KNOW the OPPOSITION players... by the way, Kkkkken, McDermott & Mr. Know-it-all traditionally DO NOT KNOW ALL the players  , where as Life-FM & RPH DO, hence the REASON for this POST :o

6. Fear of Alienation ??? Not at all, I really don't give a f**k what you think of me or my club 8)

But it's great entertainment & good for the EGO to see soooo many read 'em & attack 'em :)
As long as I keep catching, I'll keep casting

5AA jumping on at this time of year is a joke. Couldn't give a toss about SANFL for the previous 23 weeks but now try and steal some listeners from the real supporters of local footy (RPH and Life) at a time of year when their audience is likely to be higher and loyal station sponsors might get a bit more exposure.

I certainly will not be listening to AA.

Well put have stopped listening to the Radio at the footy for some time now . 5aa have a bad record at SANFL finals .
1 when port play they jump on the port bandwagon
2 When eagles wear a yellow jumper they go off about that .
Two things that drove me away.

Me too. Although I like John Nankiville, but will stick to Life FM.
As an O/S listener (and yes I too would much rather be there), I don't have any problem if there are more stations taking in the finals. The more coverage the better.

I am grateful to both Life FM and RPH (despite the dodgy calls  :D  ), as they do give me the only opportunity to listen to SANFL and I wouldn't be suprised if most of the other O/S posters stick to the stations they nornally listen to too. If that is the case, a few of us might be very happy that an alternative is available if the broadband (or whatever it is) gets full.

Agree 100% me old china :) LifeFM and RPH have served me well every week throughout the season so I don't intend jumping ship now unless the interweb serviette thingy is full or broken  or supporters of the teams playing can't get through :) Fully intend listening to some SANFL this weekend...not all though...huge weekend of rugby ahead and will have to get some sleep :D

Good luck to all

We (GFC Stats team) often print out copies of our stats for the RPH and LifeFM crews when they cover Glenelg games.

So who do you think we should give them to on Sunday???

(I doubt the stations will have people doing their own stats except possibly 5AA will...)

Hopefully this is not an issue about existing listeners jumping ship to 5AA but about new listeners (5AA regulars) tuning back in to the SANFL for the first time in a while! That's a more positive way to look at it.

I think Life-FM and 5RPH do the SANFL more as a community service rather than ratings and full marks for doing so throughout the season.

Exactly. Those who've listened to RPH or Life all year will continue to do so. Those whose interest lies with AFL will listen to the other mobs, and get some exposure to the SANFL.

Can't say I like smithy as a commentator. Last monday did sturt supporters hear him getting absolutely gettin stuck into to Mcgowan for playing 3 debutants in a big game. And on some of his decisions during he game. Smacked of jealousy coz he did not get the gig, or even an interview last year despite his public pleang for the job.

I'll still be listening to Life FM's coverage of the finals.

If you want quality SANFL finals coverage, stick to Life/RPH

Personally I listen to 5AA on the weekdays, Sat. & Sun mornings and the odd lead up to a game, but I can't stand their call of a game, too overhyped and overdone, even if they cross to 3AW for a call, Rex Hunt gives me the shits, same crap different caller. ABC for AFL for me and Life or 'RPH for SANFL, come to think of it do Coast still do the SANFL, don't think I've heard them for a while.
I can see where you're coming from LEH but people will listen to what they listen to, sounds like you're asking for a boycott!

Sounds like this sentiment is shared by some North supporters, judging by the Roost...

Having said all of that though, if AA covering the game exposes a few more listeners to SANFL, that must be a positive surely?

Was watching North v Sturt at Adelaide Oval (Night game) from last year. 5AA was doing the radio coverage and to be fair, I thought they did a pretty good job. Mostly, pretty good calls and knew the players.

If Life FM is clogged on Sunday, think i will give 5AA a try.

In the car park today we had 5RPH on but I actually switched my radio on to 5AA for comedic value and we spent half an hour cacking ourselves whilst KG tried to call an SANFL game.

Bentley to Thompson, Colin Rowston does it again, a free kick.
Sellar picks it up, handpasses it to Douglas.
Rowston gives a free kick to the Bays player.
He kicks it long and its brought back into play by the Sturt player.
The Sturt player kicks it long and its in the vicinity of Douglas who is nowhere near it.
Sellar, oh hang on, that's no Sellar, its another Bays player.
Bays into attack and its a goal!!

Great goal by the Bays.

It honestly was one of the funniest things I've ever heard, 30 mins of that!
According to 5AA Bentley, Mattner, Thompsons, Sellar and Douglas had 7532 possessions between them and noone else touched the ball,
I honestly recommened it to people next week, definately try and catch KGs call, funny as buggery

I started out on Life FM but just kept losing the signal so swithed to 5AA. (Don't think i could have coped with RPH today.)

Thought 5AA did a pretty good job. Think ex Rooster Josh (is it) Francou was on the commentary team so North players got a good call. Was impressed to be honest.

Will be back to Life FM next week tough and hope I can keep the signal

I think they had 2 teams, obvioulsy I didn't hear the 2nd game, only the 1st.
Josh would have been good to listen to, Ive actually gained more respect for that guy since he gave up footy, he's all class.

I didn't listen to a lot of radio today, tuned in for a bit of the second half of the second game. Llistened to FiveAA and to be honest they were quite good.

Well done to both RPH and Life FM. Agree with you on that one, Pete (actually I agree with you on most of what you say. :)
Well done also to JAS and JTC for keeping me company the various times I have been posting scores on here. Won't be doing that the next few weeks - will thankfully be in Adelaide for the Doggies charge to the flag (hopefully!!)
