Gozu wrote:North contemplating paying him to not play anywhere else? Interesting.

Given his value, it seems implausible that the club would cut off it's nose to spite its face.

Then again, North are capable of anything.

No, I don't believe they are. ;)

Johnston heading back to play for his country club?

Norwood might like to entertain getting him but the transfer fee alone would be a significant hurdle and as a contracted player also let alone what he would expect re match payments given what is being bandied about re his chooks contract.

Not even Norwood could hide this from Salary Cap scrutiny given their recruits to date for next season but then again Norwood have form for cheating the cap.

PS - SimonH - you don't have a clue so don't post absolute crap!

I have to say I am surprised by comments and debate on the Centrals, Norwood and Sturt forums re Lewis Johnston - very fair and balanced re those supporters and how they view what has happened re his departure from North. I dare say the hierarchy at those clubs would also have some serious concerns about his attitude not to mention big $$$ needed to get him.

Obviously I wouldn't be privy to the state of our cap, but you'd think Allan, Newton, Davis,McInnes and Murphy would have been on a fair whack between them. I don't think our recruiting is quite finished yet

Plus the fact he has been considerably injury prone.

Ouch. Good for the players obviously, but worst case scenario for the Bloods and their supporters.

Happy to see Beech get a look-in. Has been a quality player for a number of years.

So now they get to play against their side they just won a flag in...doubtful these guys will play Manu afl games so looks like just good recruits for the powers 2s and ravens. :(

Mixed emotions. Rapt Beechy gets a chance to get involved in the AFL system, shattered as a Westies supporter though that last years B&F will be playing against us.

Tom Keough will be a tough one to cover with Riley Milne also an out. Leaves a big hole in the defence.

The upside for Beech is that he can always pop back to Richmond Oval in his spare time for a reminder of how a proper club goes about its business. ;)

LOL
You read my mind Heater!!!
We lost 6 in the drafts. Don't think even Norwood lost that many in one year.
That is too many to replace.
