The thing you don't realise is that people who follow the AFL don't respect or understand your decision not to barrack for an AFL team and to follow and SANFL club solely. To them you might as well follow the A League for all the impact you have on their thinking about their precious little AFL franchise.

The bigger problem is that it appears that Leigh, John and the rest of the clowns have about as much enthusiasm for the SANFL as most of the AFL numpties on here do.

no, i think the problem is, that a lot of people here dont realise that there is no escaping the fact that the SANFL cannot be a standalone competition with no influence from the AFL. For the last 40 years they have been impacted, and it hasnt changed now. Of course the reserves teams have an impact on the SANFL. But having an almighty whingefest instead of trying to be constructive about what might be a bad situation for you guys, but is one you are stuck with whether you like it or you dont.

Absolute garbage. The SANFL without AFL involvement would become the undisputed second best comp in Oz.

It would be the envy of every state league and the clubs within those leagues.

Players would flock to play at clubs who have their developement as its sole focus.

And winning a flag in an untainted league its sole focus .

Why this proposition scares the people who are paid by our league to protect it is the major issue and has been for a decade. To busy checking out
AFL clubs profit and loss ratios and potential tv ratings for 7.

I don't need reminding of it every thread. As Admin, moderators and posters have noted, if you don't like the thread, stay out of it!

Port v Adelaide SANFL game wrap up....really, if you don't like the current set up and have been happy to be vocal about it there must be some special level of idiocy taking place to enter that thread, agreed?

Yet you come into the "whinge" thread and complain. Priceless !

Here's the spot to whinge, not in the game preview/review threads....

And I was responding to the question below. Cheers.

I imagine there would be uproar. This forum would explode and so would the FIVEaa phone lines. This is how we feel. We have to go each week and watch 2 teams that are playing on a completely different playing field and we're suppose to accept it and stop whining. Why should we? I hardly think you would be if the shoe was on the other foot.

I could probably go into the AFL forum and get all the posts about how unfair it is that Sydney get COLA, yet some of you refuse to see how unfair the conditions are in the SANFL.

Yet you don't seem to be complaining about how the Power Reserves are running around with a much larger salary cap then any of the other SANFL teams. That makes the SANFL slightly jilted, does it not?

I've not said it's a good thing, have I?

That isnt my understanding, was led to believe the 12 month notification only applies to them staying in the comp or not.
I think rules regarding top ups can be made every year and the AFL clubs dont have a say. Will definately be changes next year

Think you'll find there's a guaranteed place for the AFL clubs for MUCH longer than 3 years.

The 12 month notification is for any changes according to information given to me yesterday by someone involved with the SANFL who should know.

I would have happily watched a the south and eagles game on TV today, I will not be watching another game where the crows or power are playing.

FYI both team are SANFL team playing today's game

The crows and power reserves are not SANFL teams they are afl reserves sides in our competition. This does not make SANFL teams.

I'm going to start a new "No SANFL in the AFL Whinge Thread" thread.
Just for balance as I think it's only fair.

Why don't we just settle all opposing views once and for all with a nominated 'rumble round'.

The winner will receive the Packer-Gyngell Cup.

Nope Booney knows AFL teams in SANFL aren't a good thing. He's just on his horse calling everyone a whinger who says it but isnt a port supporter.

Baffling I know.

I didn't mention loyalty or integrity, you did.
