Come on guy's. Seasons now over.

Leave your differences for next season, you never know, a lot of things may change next year, resolving many of the issues we get argy bargy over.

A 20% drop is significant, especially considering EP won the minor premiership.

Find it hilarious that they are blaming the drop on a poor crowd for cross town rival because of bad weather! What about the other 9 home games you peanuts...

Interesting crowd figures for the SANFL.
I hope it is an increase that continues or is maintained into the future.
As they say, a strong Norwood and Port Adelaide brings good crowds.
Will Port maintain their crowds under the new plan? Will Crows supporters increase their contribution to the competition by bringing some supporters next year?
Will some of those supporters who left the competition this season return now that we're a little removed from the still-shit decision that was made?

I'm still not sure whether we are comparing apples with apples - the fact that there has been a changed policy and Crows supporters get in for free as do AO members at Adelaide. Can the increase be explained by the number of "freebies" - are there more or less free tickets compared to last year?

We could probably increase attendance figures significantly by letting in everyone for free!

Numbers are numbers . 10 teams this year not 9 and as mentioned before and a couple of AFL reserves teams crowds large due to the novelty.

Lets see the numbers next year .

Again they are comparing against one year, not over an extended period.

With the reception received at various venues it would not have been a shock to see the numbers drop off in the second half of the season. They didn't.
Make of that what you will.

Impossible to predict.

I think you'll find they did.
(Waiting for the "crowds are always down in the 2nd half of the season, bad weather and all that")

Thanks Phil

So if my maths is correct for average crowds per team
2013= 2624
2014 = 2537

That 2537 is the lowest average crowd since WW2 finished
Might be a trend though, the last 4 seasons the average crowd has dissipated each season

I divided it by team as a formula for the Minor Round games
10 teams 2014 @253713 =2537 per team
9 teams 2013 @ 236163 = 2624 per team

17000 extra went in 2014 compared to 2013
Not a bad effort considering there were only 18 rounds
