Interesting stats there Wedgie, I had no idea how bad our record was against Port. For example winning only 17 out of 85 encounters at Alberton is pretty abysmal, then the overall record of only 87 wins from 258 games looks pretty bad also. However, if we deduct the Alberton record from those overall stats we have won 70 out of 173 with two draws at all venues other than Alberton. No doubt our horror run from 1989 through to 1996 would have contributed to how unbalanced those figures look.
Hope we can address the balance a little this weekend.

Found this an interesting stat - Sturt and Port have played each other in Grand Finals 10 times.

Sturt won 6 , Port won 4
It is what it is !!!

As Allan Jeans once said, you can fry em, sear em, bake 'em grill 'em but at the end of the day theire still sausages, manipulate the stats all you want Port are well and truly in front....

If you want something real to hang you hat on, your record at Alberton and vs Port is better than ours....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

And I would bet our record at Alberton is not the worst going around either.

Tas mentioned the Bays and there are probably a couple of others, namely South and quite possibly Central.

Take it away Spelly.....

From memory the dogs have about 17 wins at Alberton in our history. I can't imagine anyone really have a good all up record against Port.

Hopefully they continue their current form and the rest of us can square things up a little.

Crikey, I would have never thought North had comfortably won more at Alberton than other away teams even despite our recent record there.

The eagles record comes a bit more back to the field when you add in Woodvile & West Torrens to it.
7/19 is quite impressive though, compared to the rest of us.
