Cuppido Rumour

Postby dash61 » Thu Nov 30, 2006 5:30 pm

News to me, mind you in another breath westies got him out training right now it may improve his fitness for the season proper in 4 months and Sir Damian might like a challenge, kicking 75 goals and helping westies of the bottom

Could be Damian wants to do the right thing by west adelaide after signing with souths late in the peace

Ghee a westies supporter can change there tune in weeks, maybe us bloods supporters have all seen the light.

Koops V Cupiddo (well westies have done well when you compare the two, Koops was a DUD who spent 5 minutes on the oval a game in those 15 cameo performances

You won't get any arguement from any North fans on how they saw Koops but at least he got only half of what Cupido was paid - allegedly!

Yep dash Cupido will be your saviour - keep believing it and maybe the fantasy will come true!

IF and it is an IF, the story is true. happy to evaluate half way through season 2007, by which time Cupido would have easily doubled his value against a full season by Koops.

And you know it "Nephew"

Raise the salary cap question for me again, please!

I'm not sure about Cupido's overall value because he failed at South and I can't see the Weed would be any better than Pyman with Cupido under his wing? Comparing Cuido with Koops is chalk and cheese except for th fact both were dark skinned. Koops never had his head in football this year with injuries, no fitness base and way too many off field issues. Still he was picked many times when a fit McEntee or another Ressies player would have given 100 percent value over a whole game not the odd 5 minutes Koops managed to squeeze out. Alot of people uesed to be puzzled as to how he would get picked each week until they found out he had been payed up front!

Re the Salary Cap - North's or yours? I have already put up about North's current issues on another topic. Is that okay "Gramps"

Why is everyone saying Cupido failed at South ??? Ok he didn't have a good
finals campaign but he did kick a couple of big bags of goals through the season.
Without him i think South would not have made the finals.

CUPIDO got all his goals against inferior opposition such as Sturt and West.

In 3 games against glenelg he did nothing and kicked 1 goal

Inferior opposition hey? Not including the bays in that category as they were "nearly" finalist and so much more superior than West and Sturt?

He kicked a total of 7 goals against North in 4 games and got worse as the season progressed.

Kicked 4 in the first game (on Grandpa Haseldine).
Kicked 2 in the second game.
Kicked 1 in the third game.
Kicked 0 in the 1st semi final.

Very conspicuous by his absence when the games were there to be won. Very lazy too.

Does that mean North are "inferior" to the Bays because he kicked 6 more goals against us than he did againt the bays?

correct tigger '79, cupido was a"flat track bully, to use cricketing parlance. He got 11 against Sturt in his best game for the year- I reckon my grndmother could of got a couple that day!!!
. Realistically though he was barely visible in our 4 games against North and others vs centrals and the eagles.

I was taking the piss mighty tiger - didn't you detect the sarcasm in the posts? Your point was valid though and backing that up was apart from 2 games Cupido did FA against most teams for 99 percent of the year.

And to think I was under the misapprehension that he kicked over 50 goals for the year, when all along he only played 2 good games.

What does that say about the other forwards in the SANFL?

what it says is that all the other teams arent one dimensional!!!!!!!!!!!! and that they can find other avevnues to goal, but its hard to go past someone that FAT. he should be in the weight-loss challenge in the g/d room

Who said it was 2 good games, Im sure South played West, Port, Sturt and Norwood more than 2 times in total?
Doesn't say anything about other forwards in the SANFL but says a lot about the backmen at West, Port, Sturt and Norwood!
(And lets face facts, Ben Warren gets the best defender, Im sure those lower clubs might have one good backman but 2 would be pushing it)
