Seemed relevent since both played australian rules football at the top echelon of their respective state's comps and were sponsored by a car company. The was to appease any sticklers to purely SANFL talk but the SANFL and VFL have had a very long history of interleague games, much longer than Central's history. Even as recently as the 90s and 80s I can remember them beating the Port Adelaide FC (RIP) and losing to Norwood.
