How was that mate? I can't see stuff all at games sitting behind the goals.

One thing I could see was McBean, always liked him as a player but I didn't realise how damn big he is till today, he looks like a ruckman but certainly has a lot better mobility than a ruck man!

Good game to watch . Sick of hearing every club/school/area a player comes from though as well the aforementioned word.

Nearly a great passage of play from Young but stuffed the kick up .

North can kick goals quickly as they have players forward of the ball up forward and when they get running its good to watch. I hope they go all the way as its a better spectacle.

Craig got frees when both holding in the 3rd, Hannath got pinged for blocking in the ruck contest when his eyes were on the ball and he was simply contesting it, then Hannath got a free when both holding in the last. Finally on Norths half forward flank in Hannath got beaten to front position, held Craig, play on in time on. A lottery it was.

Doesn't surprise me, umps were terrible, definately was a lottery. Went both ways but felt like Glenelg should have won by more but that was mainly thanks to a goal umpire.

Makes for an interesting game at Woodville next week with both of the top two sides coming off a loss.
Pity I'll miss but I'm sure I'll hear plenty about it managing the nearest pub to the game that night.

Will take that

TBH North based on the last probably deserved the win as they were attacking the footy more where as we were just trying to hang on.

Going to be a great final series, even though it's a top 4 you'd think if Norwood keep showing the form of last Fri night any of the top 5 sides can beat each other on their day.
No suprise that when you take the AFL out of the SANFL we have the best comp we've had in decades.

Do you see Redden and Baulderstone play ? I think coaches may have moved on and told players about eyes on the ball. Keep your eyes on the ball and run into the bloke. ;)

The anno domini era, or the common era, begins with year 1 on the Gregorian calendar
By that same logic , the 1st decade in the calendar was complete at the end of 10 A.D
Which means , according to the Farmers Almanac, that the end of this decade is December 31, 2020

Im all google eyed ...

I did . He said" So far , best season this decade since 2012-2013-2014"

You then questioned it and said "Isn't this the first year of the new decade."

Now you asking me to read the post ?

Barring 13 mins of play in the last qtr we were clearly the better side all day.
Harder at it, ran in numbers, played the percentages.
To dig in for those last 8-9 minutes with injured players on the field shows the hunger is still there.
Not bad for a team “going backwards”...

Have to agree with Spargo here, I thought the Bays were definitely the better side, apart from the first 17 minutes (when North got within a goal) of the last term. They really came to play yesterday, and applied lots of pressure which never really allowed us to execute our usually sharp skills (I lost count of how many times we panic-kicked to a Glenelg player), and displayed plenty of grit in the last part of the last to hang on when North had had all the momentum. I'm glad that North found an extra gear in the last and made a game of it, but it shouldn't have taken that long - you can't give sides a 5 goal start in a low scoring match and hope to win.

Naturally I'm disappointed to lose, but it was to a strong side who will feature come finals time, and we still retain second spot and a two game buffer over South. Having won five on the trot, I'm hoping a loss will provide an opportunity to examine some of our deficiencies in handling Glenelg's pressure. This week's clash with the Eagles promises to be very interesting, expecting Barns (finally!) and Clisby to return - I didn't think we picked up any injuries, so perhaps there'll be some tough calls at selection on Thursday.

Finally, a fantastic crowd and a great atmosphere made for a top day at the footy (even if it was a Sunday).

Don't tell me you think football should be played on Saturday afternoons?

What was the crowd?Morning paper does not have it.

Was it the best North/Glenelg game this decade?

Okay, I won't tell you then.

Dunno, but it must've pushed near the 3K mark though. Numbers aside, both sets of supporters made plenty of noise.

Cant' say, I'm shit at maths.

One thing I was remiss to mention is the RSL at Prospect Oval. With the Past Players building at Richmond being knocked down a while ago, it’s arguably the only bar left of its kind in the SANFL. An annual joy for travelling supporters. Great atmosphere, volunteers behind the jump do a great job, and a good choice of beer to enjoy.
