I would have to agree with u Wedgie on this one. I guess for me as a bays supporter I just want to know what the **** is going on down at Brighton Rd!! who are we trying to get to our the club? Orn are we just going to sit around and winge about who everyone else got. We may need to use lot's of coin to snare some Gold, because lets just say of late the club hasn't looked the most attractive. I just want to see us competetive. I dont want the dregs of Jan, leftovers that have been shopping around all off season. The Bays need to concentrate on what we need and just go out and bloody get it.

Whatever way I look at what Norths done I see a win win for that club. Yeah they have to be close to going over, or may be they are over salary cap, but if they can put together a successful winning team watch their club boom: ie profit, supporters, sponsors SUCCESS. More coin again for the following year. I still agree the Cap is there for a reason and to try and keep some synergy and equality amoung sides but it is just possible that some clubs are just better at recruiting than others. North if your not in breach you have done a bloody great job!!

Good post tigercub but I suspect the cap is there mainly because the AFL told the SANFL to have it.
Personally I say stuff the AFL, stuff the VFL and stuff the WAFL and get rid of it like there's been for most of our history.
Hell, North and Central make more than a lot of AFL clubs, full steam ahead for improving the SANFL I say.

Or perhaps the SANFL clubs should just make a genetlemans agreement to not worry about it (probably the way its been) as the SANFL have bugerall powers to enforce it and the fine of a 1 dollar for every dollar you're over is no incentive to stay under AND most importantly it appears to the AFL like we still have it so they contiue to give us funding. :D

Plus then North could spend somre more and be on a level playing field with the Souths, Wests and Centrals of this world! :P

Any site with credibility will not allow one of the people running it to make such an accusation in such a place without any idea of the facts. I don't think you would see the SANFL site (one with credibility) have a front vpage story with some clown accusing a club he has no involvement with of breaching the salary cap.

Isn't the aim of the site to report on the facts and secondly have a forum for discussion. CA discussed where he should have been reporting.

I see your point -. I thought CA may have learnt a lesson re: S Koops & rumourmongering. Perhaps CA should report facts, and leave opinion to the rplies part of the column, which he is then entitled to put his opinion...

Did u find it that hard to understand my point Punky? Others have. Good to see someone can read.

If CA can only report facts on footysa does that mean I can only report facts on here or the Roost?
I don't see the difference.

Wedgie,

On a story board there should be no opinion.

I never said he couldn't comment in the comments section or in the forum.

Not at all- The headline should be factual. The 'reporter' is then entitled to add his opinion underneath, just like everyone else. With privilege comes responsibilty, and in light of recent events, I would've thought a more conservative reporting style may be in place.

Good point there punk.

Im mean perhaps in the story he probably should not have taken such a hard line. I can see what dash is saying here. In the comments he could have unloaded as much as he wanted. Of course he should be free to express his opinion, but as the header of a story maybe just eased of it a little.

But then again i can see the other side of the argument saying he should be free to express himself in that particular way.

But after all the problems that they have had, perhaps ering on the side of caution is a good idea.

Wedgie, I thought for memory (and please feel free to set my straight if Im wrong here) that the SANFL introduced the Salary Cap around the late 90's, possibly turn ofthe century ... Why it was tabled I'm not sure, very possibly to appease the Victorian .. Err, AFL administrators who cited protection of other Australian wide leagues as their reasoning, and was put to a vote to the SANFL clubs which resulted in an 8/1 for/against ratio ...

Given the amount of funding the AFL has withdrawn from football development in SA (claiming the Cap was still too excessive) leaving us with buggerall perhaps the time is right to completely wipe it from the comp??

None of us know for certain whether it's being breached or by how much in the event that it is, and the SANFL seems to be helpless to police it, so unless it becomes controllable I don't really see any purpose for it's existence??

Is that the same way your headline "The following footballers are gay..." was factual?
Get over it guys, if you have a problem, create your own website and put whataver headlines you want to up on it.
If you don't like it, don't go to the website, you're like the 80 year olds who always complain about everything on TV yet continue to watch it!

PS
Cheers R&B, its hard being right all the time but someone's got to do it!

LOL@Everyone that turned their noses up when weeks ago I said Port will win the flag in 06...seems the world is just catching up with why I made that prediction...

TB, you're fooling nobody with your constant attacks on this magnificent club and its favourite sons.

Giving us premiership favourtism has only confirmed what we've all suspected for a long time.

Can I just add its great to have footysa back to normal with no delay in posts. A lot more fun as it shows up the dimwitted obsessive jealous people a lot quicker. Never quite had the same impact when it took up to 72 hours to get up there!
Hooray for Footysa! =D> \:D/
