Was a bit diasappointed that a half time, both hot dog stands ran out and the central canteen was also sold out of pies and pasties. We've had similar problems at Norwood in years gone by, but at least they didn't run out at the BBQ or the beer venues ;)

Glenelg played some very good footy at times today and given the Dogs are yet to win after the bye this year (IIRC!), the Bays are a chance next week at Dog Park. :D

Without hi-jacking the thread, Central arent coming off a bye against Glenelg.

Lucky we didn't have the bye this week then.

Sorry - no offence to the Magpies intended  South had the bye this week - we play them next week so my wires were well and truly crossed. :D

Next week will be the defining answer % is very poor at the moment as well which will not help in the run home.[/quote]

Not only some very big calls but also some obvious nonsense. % is unlikely to be an issue given that we have had a draw.

Paul Thomas would be happy if Tom Jonas didn't play. :D

As normal with Norwood we made it harder than it needed to be. A few lapses left Glenelg still in the hunt later than they possibly had a right to be. If we had kicked straight in the last quarter we would have won by four or five which might have been a truer indication of the game.

Bryce Campbell's last quarter had to be seen to be believed, Macca-esque.

Random observations:

- all 3 grades lost for the first time in ages
- Luke Jericho seems to worry more about what's said to him from the outer than what's happening on the ground
- who said umpires don't have a sense of humour? Blast one and he gives the thumbs up and wins the crowd over
- torps x 2 ... I suppose a droppy is out of the question?
- don't fall asleep in time on in the 3rd or the game can get away from you
- don't marry a Norwood supporter and definitely don't bring her to the game when you lose
- shorts in winter are cool
- the timeclock was working ... hooray!
- don't turnover the ball when there's no-one between you and the opposition goals
- someone must have found some old records during the week ... a few versions of the original club song not heard for years made their way to the turntable
- the 2011 Magarey Medalist is shite
- good crowd, hope the club made some coin
- Let it go Mouse, you play at Prospect now
- why is the BBQ dearer at the Southern end?
- seems that some Crows supporters were lost
- Centuwion, you were wrong!

I thought Norwood's best were no. 3 and no. 8 trainers. They seemed to just stand on the wing in front of us all day and barely move. ;) Maybe handed out 4 or 5 drinks to their players all day.

Seriously Norwood were in control after quarter time and never looked like losing. Campbell outstanding. Rowe and Pfeiffer were also very good. Dawe keeps getting better everytime I see him.

I know I may put a few bays fans noses out of joint here, but is McMahon any value to your team? He looks like he is just out there to collect stats evidenced by the fact he almost always kicks it to himself at kick-ins. Turns it over alot and has absolutely no defensive game. I'm sure Panozzo would be a far better option and is a proven team-player. Just my opinion though.

Our Captain James Gallagher
Gavin Hughes
Jesse Aish
Tom Jonas
Will Young
Josh Donohue
Toby Schulz
Taylor Walker??
David Rodan??
Simon Phillips (very unlikely IMHO)

Problem will be fitting them all in! Great problem to have!! :D

I have asked before but how many has Walker played ? Wouldn't classify that list in the same as Centrals injuries.

Rodan would be the same, very unlikely he would be allowed or would want to play finals even if he qualified with 5 games.

Jesse Aish also only fringe league player imho.

Would have thought Phillips would have been a big chance to play finals, but agree Walker and Rodan won't. Think you are underestimating Josh Donohue. He doesn't have to be a star, all he has to do is chip in for 2-3 goals, and it could make all the difference, especially if Phillips is there too. Thought at the time he was a huge out for Norwood in the GF last year, and is what their forward line lacked after Phillips went off.

Surely, NFC, this (lack of match fitness) is only the case for Gavin Hughes, returning from his shin splints issue?

I know Josh Donohue had a thigh injury a while ago but he has played league or reserves the last 3 weeks hasn't he?

And Toby Schulz has played all season hasn't he? He of course was dropped after the West game where he kicked 4.

I know it has been mentioned a couple of times already, but I was super impressed with the game of Leg's debutant Dylan Reinbrecht.

The Rostrevor product had 14 disposals, an amazing 10 tackles and kicked 2 quality goals, including that ripper in front of The Spirt, in a great start to a league career.

Interesting to hear Bass say on 5AA tonight that the Legs have a jumper shortage at the moment and that Reinbrecht had to make his debut in number 14, usually worn by another talented youngster, currently out injured, in Mark Evans.

What number had Dylan been wearing during his reserves games so far this year?

Could well be Norwood's 3rd Powerade Star Search Nominee for the season although I did also see the debut of a young lad at Sturt named Ben Hanson who had 22 disposals, an amazing 15 rebound 50's and handled the responsibility of taking the point kick outs with great skill and poise for a debutant.

Rnd 11 Glenelg v Norwood POST GAME DISCUSSIONS

Postby White Line Fever » Mon Jun 13, 2011 11:36 pm

Finally caught a SANFL game today and what a great day it was ... Is !!
Great crowd at the bay and a great game.

The game was a momentum game... 4 goals one 4 the other.

The difference..
Norwood far better at contested marks
Norwood great tackling
Glenelg just horrible forward entry. Burned the ball all day

Go norwood and go the SANFL

Josh came back too early and struggled, that is why he was dropped. He is still struggling but improving slowly. He's still not fit enough to run out a league game. We've had a number of players in the same boat, Zorzi has really struggled but ran out the game well today. The player we missed most today was Jonas who has been in great form this season. It could work out well for us as these players may run into peak fitness leading into the finals.

Put a fit Jonas, gallagher and Hughes back in that team and we'd go pretty well I reckon.

Anyone else is a happy bonus.
