The other Eagles player that should have been in the side is Peter Fiacchi.

Rarely beaten and one of the most reliable defenders in the comp.

Not sure how a bloke who is possibly the best performer for the year thus far for the undefeated league leaders can miss out. Chad O'Sullivan must surely play. Most other omissions are understandable but this one is terrible. If he was playing well in a losing side or playing average in a winning side you'd understand but to be playing so well for the side clearly in front of the comp and not be selected in the squad is unbelievable.

I totally agree Graham, am very suprised he can't at least make the squad. If he keeps up his good form, he should force the selectors to add him to the squad. From the initially selected 29 man squad I beleive Chris Schmidt from West will not play after suffering a season ending shoulder injury, Ian Callinan from Centrals has done his hammy and will miss 3 weeks so is unlikely to be picked with possibly only 1 game up his sleeve before they head to Perth and Nick Duigan from Norwood would be in doubt as well after he also jagged a hammy last week.

Chad O'Sullivan had a slowish start to the year coming back from I think groin soreness and started in the reserves for the Dogs in Round 1 against the Eagles where I reckon he was 2nd best on ground with about 30 possessions and a couple of goals. Back into the Dogs league side for Round 2 he had 19 touches and kicked 4 goals in a superb effort. The Dogs then had the bye in round 3 before he had 27 possesions, 7 marks, 4 tackles and kicked 2 goals in the Dogs thrashing of the Panthers.

He is the Dogs reigning B&F and their leading goal kicker from last year and of course, last week against the Bays he was awarded BOG and won the Bob Quinn Medal with 3 classy goals, 4 tackles and 24 touches.I know there is a fair bit of on ball prowess announced in the State Squad already, but surely those figures are enough to at least get him in the initial squad. I was very supirsed he didn't get selected but I guess time will tell as to whether he gets added to the squad in the coming weeks or not.

G

You obviously don't go to the football.

He is in the Eagles best players week after week, always gives a contest.

Definitely one of the top defenders in the comp.

Obviously with any state side there are going to be unlucky players my main ones been O'Hara, Backwell, Sheedy, Vlatko and Gum. Due to Ian Callinan's hamstring injury i didn't have him available.

J Sheedy will play in that side !!!

VLATKO..... I assume thats a joke

The guy who is leading the goal kicking always has to come under consideration, i think the bloke is useless but if his top of the list when it's time to pick the team they will look at the bloke.

With the amount of rotations teams have these days he would still get plenty of game time, i would probably have him coming on when Chris Gowans or Ty Allen needed there first rest. I had M.Wright as ruck rover as he added a little bit more speed to slower legs of Gowans, Allen, and Allan.

I wouldn't worry about what opinion whufc has of North footballers after his ridiculous comments about Allan and Archard after our loss to Centrals in our first game. He makes a comment in his next post about leg speed in reference to Allan but picks both the Gowans to start - hardly Bay Sheffield material those two with leg speed. No idea!

I never said the Gowans were speedsters. What i said was that by having Gowans, Allan and Allen in the center square there would be a lack of leg speed. So to add pace i would place Matt Wright (a north player who i rate very highly along with Alleway) in the center square. I think Gowans and Allen compliment each other well so i would start J.Allan on the bench and bring him on to replace these blokes.

Is it that hard to understand mr i know it all rate every player who plays for north despite my team being 5hite for the whole of this decade drebin.

And where did i have both the Gowans to start if you look properly you will find J.Gowans is on the INT (short for Interchange).

Come on Drebin you normally set a higher standard than that.

Show me where I said I am "know it all" because I took you task over a stupid uneducated comment about Archard and Allan from round 2 and had a crack at your complete lack of respect for Allan despite him being a ball magnet and MM winner?

As for your comment about North being Shite for the whole of the decade - how do rate the years 2004-2007 then? If you want to make personal jibes at me then go ahead but I will give it back as good as I get but clearly you have some issue with anyone having a go at your brilliant assessments of football in general.

Pity there was no internet back when Centrals were lucky to make the finals and go out each time winless pre - crows days?

P.S. As for setting a higher standard? Did you read your first reply??? Fancy telling me to lift my standard FFS!

I totally agree Jimmy Allan is a ball magnet and a brilliant possesion getter, what i don't rate is his use of the football which was evident in the 2007 grand final, and to be honest i don't think the Magarey Medal winner is always the best player. Umpires don't have time to think about how the player used the ball in a game they just remember who gets the ball alot.

What i do get annoyed with is when you say i know nothing because i have both the gowans in my starting line-up when it cleary reads i had J.Gowans on the bench.

what difference would the internet of made ???? Please tell me you dont dream of one day inventing the time machine and sending yourself and your laptop back to 1990 to show all the CDFC fans Drebin. Im sure that would learn us.

North how do you rate the years 2004-2007 ???? Won nothing from memory. Just like the rest of the done nothing decade.

One might fine dummy spit Drebin considering all WHUFC did was suggest Jimmy allen isnt the greatest skilled footballer in Australia (especially when snapping from 25m out in grand finals).

Very precious.
