LOL you've identified one of our negotiating tools...

Yep you earn more money out/down there at that club...but think of the taxi fares you'll save by living and playing here.... So you'll actually ahve more in your hand by playing at Brighton Rd

P.P.S You can live at Glenelg and not play for Glenelg.

Ahh you mean like half the South Adelaide team ;)

Up that hill, past the old refinery, cross beach rd, find a park. get strapped, train for two hours, shower, back in car, cross beach rd, go past refinery down cement hills negotiate Brighton rd - yep an attractive way to earn footy playing money - how is the petrol bill....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

And Norwood players taking pay cuts because of administration incompetence - how does that work?

Yes, Darren Chandler instigating an investigation of his previous club and his previous negotiations, a publicity dream for the SANFL - not.

What a farce. A week before the minor round starts Glenelg still have room in their salary cap of $360,000 for their whole team, to attempt to recruit Hall. Every other club is struggling to keep under yet they've managed their finances so well that they can recruit an ex afl listed, Best and fairest and Simpson medalist. They didn't have to pay their players the whole of the cap, despite being runners up last year.
Amazing financial management Glenelg.
As am Bays said, "let the SANFL investigate".

Actually perhaps a more pertinent question is what do you think Hall is worth ? What would a player of his calibre get paid, officially, per match ?

surely you posting this list actually weakens your arguement as;

couch, smith, donnelly wont play league
meyer is the standard payment for afl players
mills would be a good earner - comparable to probably bode
a grima probably comparable to rudolph

that leaves a gap of sherwoods 2008 payments not yet spent for 2009

I think recent events demonstrate that "play for the love of the club" is utopian concept for your Mob Topsy....

Thanks to Mr Tuckey? What about the South officials who presented him with and signed the two different versions of his contract?

I think one breach by $5000 resulting from the absence of a GM for 6 months when Doug was sick is quite different to a calculated attempt to rort the system. I was just making the point that the blame for the breach shouldn't be laid at Tuckey's feet. The blame for it being revealed, perhaps yes.

You don't bite the hand that feeds. Obviously most players hold their end of the deal up with so few breaches officially coming out. He was of poor character....

Unless of course every club is doing the right thing....
