Couldn't argue with those names. Over the duration probably Gavin slightly ahead of the Hally and Linds.

In terms of guys from other local clubs would say Adam Grocke and Matt Cooper, both played a huge part in the 06 flag.

Agree with you whole heartedly there columbo that's why I named gav at the top of the list. I was thinking Cooper but didn't name him because I just went with interstate recruits.

How about the 'Smiling Assassin' - TWO-EIGHT - John Wynne

Wonder if Wynney & John Duckworth played together over there ?
Frightening combination

The word "drafted" I thought implied only since the drafting of players recruited by the AFL teams to SANFL teams began.
Are we actually talking about all players simply recruited from elsewhere, rather than coming up through the juniors?

Ability Wise For Westies
1 Ben Haynes
2 Damian Cupido

Both under achievers in their AFL careers, both have talent to burn, for me no arguement ability wise

Another comment like that & I might shorten it !!!

Sad news from the west, according to 'winger' on WA's Footy Goss Forum, West Perth & Norwood star from the 70's, Brian Adamson
is currently very ill in a WA institution suffering from dementia. I'm sure all SANFL followers send best wishes to Brian, his family & friends.

David Palm is reported to be coaching 'The Falcon's' juniors.

Nah, i'd vote for Mark O'Keefe or James Friebel for the Double Blues

Michael Friebel. I felt sorry for Friebel, wasn't his fault he didn't have a heap of ability in a side that was rubbish. Really decent bloke who tried hard though.

Mark O'Keefe was rated a bit better in a terrible side, although I thought it was a bit odd that he was made one of the vice captains at the time.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

I used to wonder how O'Keefe would have done in any other SANFL side at the time. Probably still a good player, but not good enough to play the pivotal role in the center of a good SANFL side, or perhaps any other side than the cellar dwellers we were at the time. Wasn't he one of Higgins' revelations?
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

I thought he was one of Trigg's recruits but it's possible he was there earlier.

I'd like to see this thread broken up a bit though:

"who was your best recruit from another SANFL club"

"who was your best recruit from another state"

"who was the best VFL/AFL reject" etc..

Let's face it, a fair chunk of the league playing lists are made up of recruits.
It's all the SANFL's fault.
