The only inconsistency lies in the standards of some posters thinking that posts can be treated the same when they are entirely different.

But let's not let the facts get in the way of a good whinge.

See u guys there too :D :D

flags arent won in june

doesnt matter how you win as long as you win

see you in september, and we will bring hankies for you blokes this year

Usually it is hard to both agree AND disagree with another post in it's entirety but.....

I wholeheartedly agree with your first line about flags not being won in June, as I again do with your second line concerning 'just winning'.

As for the third line about you bringing hankies in September, well that my friend is a very, very brave statement to make in July. I am not foolish enough to counter that with an equally cocky prediction but what I will say is Sturt are getting some injuries NOW rather than at the business end of the season, have an enormous amount of depth as compared to 2007 and are a markedly better unit than the one that coughed up the elimination final to your mob. Couple that with the fact we won't be playing in the elimination this year.

Sturt will give the 2008 Flag a really big shake mate and don't be surprised if it's at the expense of the Tigers.

After all, "flag's aren't won in June" (or July, or August...)

will be a great game. spuing that ABC cant telecast the night game at elizabeth.
think the dogs will get up.
the game will be in august and thats when centrals start stepping it up. but glenelg are the form side in the sanfl.

since round 14 last year they are 19 wins 5 losses and a draw
now that is a very good record

I wondered when someone was going to pick this comment up...

Just prior to the quarter time siren...TV coverage showed that James went the poke and prod on Luke Crane's eye, which sparked a bit of push and shove...super slow motion had the hand searching for the eyes, then the fingers went in for the poke.

Nothing mentioned about it all week...play on.

You're not trying to suggest that (when fit) James Gowans plays a dirty style of thuggish, slow football are you?

Whatever "style" of play you think James, and his brother Chris, Gowans play, it has been good enough for them to win 6 x Premiership medals each, Jack Oatey's, B & F's, Bobb Quinn medals and 8 wonderful years of service to our great club and the SANFL. Not bad hey

Here is the Doggies line up for Saturday night's big clash against the top of the table Tigers...

CENTRAL DISTRICT FOOTBALL CLUB LEAGUE SIDE
SATURDAY NIGHT, 6:30pm 2nd AUGUST 2008 Vs GLENELG @ HAMRA HOMES OVAL, ELIZABETH

Full Forward: Luke McCabe, Luke Cowan, Ian Callinan
Half Forwards: Chad O'Sullivan, Heath Lawry, Chris Gowans
Centre Line: Elijah Ware, James Gowans, Adam Switala
Half Backs: Trent Goodrem, Jason Mackenzie, Ryan Williams
Full Backs: Andrew Hayes, Yves Sibenaler, Richard Cochrane

Rucks: Jonathon Griffin, Paul Thomas, Matthew Slade

Interchange (from): Scott Dutschke, Louis Hadden, Brayden O'Hara and Matthew Westhoff

INS:
Matthew Westhoff
Louis Hadden

OUTS:
Havelberg (ankle)
+ 1 more from extended bench

As expected, Daniel Havelberg has not come up with his ankle injury and will miss this vital game for the Doggies. It is another huge blow to our big man department especially considering Daniel Schell is still out with a groin concern. Although named at CHB, vice captain and regular back up ruckman Jason "Buckets" Mackenzie will probably maintain his usual role in the middle with Jon Giles and IMO, I think Heath Lawry, who was a regualr CHB at VFL club Williamstown, will line up in the key defensive post on either Kourkby, Grima or Duldig. I am concerned now, even more so than usual, with our lack of defensive height and worry that the taller, quick Bays forward line will be too potent for us.

I think and hope that Matty Westhoff comes into the league side as a "replacement" forward option if Heath Lawry does start at CHB like I have suggested. Although getting best on ground in the reserves a week after getting dropped from the league side, I don't think Loius Hadden will force his way into the final 21 unfortunately, unless Brayden O'hara is unlucky to be dropped or James Gowans corked thigh isn't 100% right and he withdraws from the selected squad. I am now even less confident than I was going into this game with the loss of Haveleberg and although I would be very happy for the Dogs to get up, which the side is capable of still, I just can't seem to pick the home side and think now that the Bays should win comfortably by around 5 or 6 goals.

Not by Doggies supporters mate, that's for sure. I'd say only by jealous and over opininated opposition supporters like yourself

Anyway, what does any of this have to do with Saturday night's game between Central District and Glenelg?
