fwiw i actually think tim would be back into the sturt league team by if he had stuck at it

I think he was one game short of 200 (or close to 200) at the end of 1990, so I assume he wanted to at least get it.

MAL and others, you have got to be kidding.
What an absolute joke that Norwood would take on a bloke who is washed up and apart from perhaps giving some advice on the training track IS OF NO VALUE TO NORWOOD IN A GUERNSEY.

As stated on the Redlegs forum by CA if we were close to winning a premiership and some experience might top off our playing list ok but Norwood is not in that position.
Personally I would rather play a younger player and look forward a year or two.
Having said that any player who wears the red and blue jumper will get my full support and I hope he wins another Magarey Medal with us.....and another premiership...hahaha !

I reckon Timmy will go alright with the Redlegs and will add a bit of class and experience to the Redlegs midfield or half forward line...

IMHO, I've never really rated Timmy, despite his record, but just think he will prove all the sceptics wrong and add something to the team...

I find it astonishing. I was at his "special" tribute day at Unley when they played Glenelg. He walked out with his kids... tossed the coin and did the radio call. I listened to his call and it was all about "us, we" and he was so passionate about getting Sturt over the line.

I have no doubt being a instinctively competitive beast he'd want to show Rick that there was plenty left in his tank... but I have a feeling he will come to regret the decision. People as loyal, courageous and determined as Tim love their team mates, love the jumper, love the notion of being a one club man.. they love the members.

I do not see anything that Tim has to gain (except a few $$'s.. although why wouldnt you go and play for an local club...). Norwood supporters will be ready to eat the coach and board should he fail and be taking the spot of a developing kid... Sturt supporters will feel hurt...

I'm a fan of Tim's.... but this just doesnt sit right.

PRESEASON
Tim does the preseason training ready for another season with the Blues
The blues after a very good 2007 are a chance to win the flag in 2008
Tim would be enthusiastic about playing
He is then told he will have to earn his spot starting in the Bs
This would be a kick in the pants for a Magery M ed AL ist
Then whether its pride or whatever he retires from football

NOW
Tim quit prematurely
Would be still fit doing a pre season
He realises he only quit becoz of a situation and not to do with passion
Understandably he gets itchy feet and wants to play footy again
He cant go back to Sturt
He finds a club that is willing to take him on

SUMMARY
I cant blame Tim for making a comeback, footballers are a long time retired ....WHY NOT
Sturt had made a decision based on what they believe was right...CANT BLAME STURT
Norwood by taking on a M ed AL ist is bringing experience + knowledge to the club...WHY NOT

Cant see anything wrong with the individual and the 2 clubs in whats transpired.

Well put Mal, it's what I've thought also. This is probably a descision based around his love of playing footy, while it'll be sad to see him in a Norwood jumper I don't have a problem with it at all so good luck Tim.

Hey All,

An article on Timmy's transfer to Norwood in todays Advertiser basicaly summed up EXACTLY what the last few posts have questioned. His love to and desire to still play footy at league level is still there and after talks with Jack @ South Adelaide and Trevor Hill @ Norwood, Tim decided he would have more opportunity with The Redlegs (plus he probably did want to have to drive to Noarlunga 3 times a week for training !!??) Basically he mentioned that he feels his experience as an on baller will help Norwood as they have a farily young on baller brigade, especially with Scott Borlace out injured at the moment.

Good luck Timmy, stick it up all your knockers...

Wouldn't have been so bad if South hadn't turned him down.
If you take players South turn down you really do need to start seriously looking at your recruiting policy.
Having said that, Norwood will win this week!

Really annoyed South even spoke with Tim given our policy on youth with particular reference to recruiting in our metro and country zones.

Don't jump the gun too much Darley16,

I think it was possibly a case of Tim speaking to South first, or at least initiating a chat with Jack, rather than the other way round mate...

Doesn't matter though, he's with Norwood now so let their fans continue to be sceptical until he proves himslef at League level, if this happens at all ???

Just focus all your energy on your mob beating the Bays this week, like the upset in round 1. I would love to see the Bays get doen once again, but unfortunatley, I don't think it will happen this time round.

Scott Borlace is listed in the press today out for 2 more weeks with a knee injury.
There are some other opinions eminating about that he
Will never be 100% fit ever again
Will have to retire very soon
Will be out for the season
Will play in 2 weeks time

With a doubt on a leader like Scott , it could be the right thing to recruit Timmy ?

Complete with Tigers footy on his kid's lap

Story is about him and his wife having a grizzle about being classed 'rich' despite having a combined income of $150,000+.

Wayne claims they 'do it tough every single day'.
Fair dinkum, it's called living beyond your means, not 'doing it tough'.

Is he guaranteed a spot in Norwood's League?

I'd have thought Trevor Hill would go in unchanged against the roosters.

I guess he has a point to prove and that might be motivation enough.
With Borlace and Philips still out, he'll hopefully be of benefit to us.
