Poor last quarter by the Eagles, when the game was up for grabs, and a big letdown from the great result against Sturt a week earlier. I agree that Grocke's missed goal in the last quarter (not an easy shot under pressure) was critical. But Central, like the top side they are, took full advantage and were soon in complete control of the game when it really mattered. I left Elizabeth thinking that the Eagles have a long way to go to approach the form we showed throughout most of 2006.

The weirdest part for me about last nights game is that at no stage was i worried we were going to lose. The whole night i thought we were playing ok but also had a gear to go up. Even at three quarter time i said to my mates that i thought we had the skill level to over run them and we would win by four-five goals i was slightly off.
What were the thoughts of the other dogs fans hear, how confident throughout the night were you?

I said to my old man that we would win by 15 points at 3 qtr time. Was pretty impressed with my psychic ability on that tip. I agree that the result felt safe all night, quite odd given how patchy we played.

And you would have never noticed had a deliberate free not been plucked from the proverbial late in the 1st against Stewart.

Can I add that the crowd was well behaved - the game that fans from other clubs would expect incidents most likely turned out to be the match which didn't have umpires stopping the match; someone looking for a fight; someone fighting off security, or using overly abusive language.

Went out to Elizabeth for the 1st time under lights this year and I was very surprised how much light was generated, so next time you go may I suggest you keep your pants up and take your sun glasses off!

Smelly Leeds Boy's photos would have been quite intresting after it hit 1am and neither him or JMO could get served a drink
