Terribly sad news but at least for Lee the pain is over.

I hope eventually when time has eased the pain for his family and friends it will be replaced in part by pride. To have inspired courage and hope in someone would make your life worthwhile but from what I can see Lee did this for dozens if not hundreds of people both within the Norwood family and beyond.

Condolences and deepest sympathy

RIP - LEE BLAKE

Such an amazing young lad showing courage beyond all belief, and right to the very end as well, no doubt...

So tragic that the young fella lost his battle this morning, such a terrible way to start the weekend...

Deepest sympathies and of course, my heart goes out to his family, friends and team mates from the Norwood Footy Club.

I guess it was kind of fitting that Lee held out long enough for his beloved Redlegs to hang on for an emotional win over arch rival Port...

Sad sad day (and week) for SANFL footy, 2 tragic losses of young lives...

Same sentiments go out to family and friends of talented young Panther Sam Davis as well...

RIP - SAM DAVIS

My life, and that of the NFC, has been made richer for your very presence.
You have touched so many souls during your short time on this earth. Heaven has been made an even better place with your arrival.
You epitomise what is the very fibre of our club and will NEVER be forgotten.
Your memory equals what is best about our club and the very people it embraces, as well as those within the football community.
FORTIS IN PROCELLA= Lee Blake.
Your fight to the very end was truly inspirational and one I will never forget.

R.I.P. mate. Thankyou for being part of my life.

it is tragic news for a player that nearly fought everything but unfortunalty couldnt fight one more battle, RIP Blake. it is touching to read some of these posts from all you football followers, it dosent matter to me that he was playing for a club that i dont follow, my wishes were with you Blake. As mentioned beforehand, we have had 2 bad losses during the week, what this does though is that it helps to strengthen the club and it supporters. keep up the good work people.

RIP Lee Blake NFC

Sad news today on the NFC website, my information is that it came after his third battle with Lukemia after having had two remissions from it. RIP Lee. :(

RIP Lee Blake #41

The players, coaches and staff of the Norwood Football Club are saddened by the passing of Lee Blake.

He was surrounded by his family and friends last night after being able to acknowledge the boys win over the Magpies.

Lee was a person known to all at the club as someone who demonstrated so many qualities not only as a footballer but as an individual who had faced many challenges. The thoughts of everyone at the club go out to his family at this sad time.

An absolute tragedy. Heard the news at Norwood on Friday night that Lee was not expected to see the weekend out. Despite not knowing him my heart bleeds for his family and friends.

The pain's over but those who loved Lee are now coming to the sad terms.

RIP. God Bless.

Glad to hear.

Makes losing a game utterly insignificant.

There are a few very emotional tributes in the death notices for Lee in today's Advertiser...

It's such a tragedy for all his mates, team mates and of course his family and poor young wife...

There were some really fitting things said about Lee by various people that actually even bought a tear to my eye...

I never knew the man and of course i'm not a Leg's fan but I hope that plenty of people show up at Coopers Stadium on Thursday to give him the kind of farewel that such a courageous, brave, young man so fittingly deserves.

RIP: Lee Blake

Very sad.
There was an article early last year after he fought it off for the second time:

Nobody should have to go through this.
