Cheers Phil, Im amazed my guess of high 4000s was correct!

As an addition looking forward to heading there again on Saturday, top notch facilities, love how you can walk straight into the clubrooms now with tables and chairs out the front, sensational setup.

If Glenelg Oval gets a better pa, a louder siren, Coopers Beer and decent toilets at the southern end of the ground it will be perfect. :D

A couple of night games have surpassed this I reckon, but it may well be the largest 'day' crowd of the season. And why not, when the alternative was watching Port V Essendon on the TV. Get outdoors!

Also please note that the Eagles had no less than 7 first choice players out when they played Glenelg. The return of most of these players has seen the Eagles improve their form so much that they easily discounted for Sturt yesterday.
Cheers

crap mate, poor james is alway realiating, the guy is king of the cheap shot, i dont expedct you to agree with me thats fine and whether the eags had 7 out i really dont give a toss either, we were abysmal in r1 but have been terrific ever since. winners are grinners and the losers can please themselves.

Just a great day of Footy, not that I saw much chasing after a 3 & 5 yo all day. Time in the Bays past players and officials marquee was great. 10 years ago you didn't see too many pat players around. The club is making areal effort int hat regard to reinforce the history and culure of teh club to get the old players back involved.

That aside two good sides having a fair dinkum crack at each other but not over-cmmitting themselves as deep down both sides know they'll play each other again at least three more times.

BAys realy on played two good qtrs (last 10 mins of the 1st frst 20 mins of teh 2nd) and the last qtr. Still haven't seen the best of us yet - missing targets and dropping relatively easy marks in the forward 50.

However you can't fault our endeavour and resolve at the moment. The Glenelg of 2000-2006 would have folded in the last quarter like a pack of cards after giving up a thre goal lead in the last qtr, but as little Timmy G found out last year we don't do that any more which is half the battle if you want to be successful.

Well done Tigers

PA not to bad could hear the music all right....
Siren sounded shit house in the SW corner (barely heard the half time siren) but OK right in front of the boxes (heard the final one OK!!!)
West End is a beautiful drop
The slab has been poured and the plumbing work done on the new southern toilet block, they are coming but so's Xmas....

tassie, i think your a bit off the mark mate i reckon our whole first quater was brilliant, the breeze was worth 3-4 & cd led by 3 points (remember the twos kicked 10 with that breeze in the last quarter to win their game)

So SANFL Crowd Figures last 6 years(As at end of Round 6)

2008 - 3,439 per game (up 162 per game from 2007)
2007 - 3,277 per game
2006 - 3,315 per game
2005 - 3,292 per game
2004 - 3,571 per game
2003 - 3,440 per game

Hopefully a big turn up to some games next week (no AFL) should even see that go up a notch.
(usually numbers drop per round as the season continues into winter)

phil, with these higher figures & no afl next week perhaps to insure a bigger turnout could the league look at giving out through 5rph,lifefm & 5aa (seeing they're doing a show now) & put a cut-out in the paper & in sportsbeat

a $5.00 entry ticket & those with the $5.00 'tokens/cut-outs' get a free ticket for a game over the next month, meaning they pay just over half price to get in & get a free ticket for the 2nd game therefore getting them to 2 games with double the chance of getting them to come again after that

what do you & others think ?

I agree with a couple of your point there Wedgmister, PA is crap and I could not hear siren. But you can stick ya Coopers where the sun don't shine. Hurry up with the toilets, Kenny's getting tired!!

Centrals has been a good side for many years now because they have had the depth to cover injuries to good players. You cannot be certain that even with these 3 players in the side today that centrals would have won.

Woolpack, we no longer have the depth that we used to. In fact, it is a few years since we did have. One of the problems about having a very successful and stable League side is that players in the Ressies end up going elsewhere. They are good enough to make the league side at various other clubs and know that they will be unlikely to make the league side at their own club. Hence, about twenty 'fringe' players left Central in recent times to seek greener pastures elsewhere. Add that to the fact that our junior sides have been the 'whipping boys' of the competition in recent times and you get the real picture of Central's depth (or otherwise).
Cheers

Oh, also add the fact that we have only had the eighth or ninth pick in the SANFL mini draft over the past eight years. A number of times that meant we gained no player at all from the Power and Crows recruits.
