Dogs arent firing at 100% yet and I dont think they will for a few more weeks yet.

If sturt cant beat us this week maybe they never will.

Going to be a classic game of SANFL. Crowd expectactions ??? 6000
(eventhough sturt fans allegedly frontrunners)

Let the mental games begin.

I reckon there is more riding on this game than just early season form.

Haha.. that didn't get to me, just thought it was a funny comment. I agree though, it's an important game to win.

Really? Round 2 means diddly squat! Wasn't it round 8 or 9 last season when these 2 played at Unley... and Sturt won? Even that meant bugger all in the grand scheme of things. Somethings mental, but it isn't the games...

What's the situation with the Gowans bros, isn't one injured?

He came back on and played after going off with the injury, I would say that isn't serious.

Even if it was, we'd just play James in Chris's guernsey.

Please note that I did not make the earlier comment that was provided under my name. However, I concur that it is a big chance for Sturt to win this week. They are off to a good start this year whilst I was less than impressed with our performance against Port. In the grand scheme of things, this game counts for little (except bragging rights). However, it may give the winner a mental edge going into the finals (assuming both sides make them, which I think they will).

I think things are different this year. But let's just see how it pans out.

For Sturt maybe, but for Centrals, things are the same as always - we worry about ourselves and our systems and the season will unfold nicely.

Could be Smac, but I have never made a prediction about the importance of early season form before. This year is different. Not saying that Sturt will win, but I think both sides need the win. More at stake than you think IMO.

Don't get me wrong, I will be mighty p!ssed if we lose this weekend (always am!).

But round 2 is not going to hold anything for anyone - early season form is only useful if your end of season form has let you down. It helps players believe in the systems again. We don't need that.

My heart says we'll kick your ar5es.

My head says it will be a close game, scrappy skills and someone will fall over the line at the end.

As smac said i will also be might pissed if we loose on Saturday but if you think this round 2 game will decide the premiership your insane.
You should remember in 2002 that the Dogs beat you about 45000 times during the season only to loose the grand final  . All this game will do is put someone top of the ladder and 2-0.

As for me, I predict a Sturt win this week but I don't predict Central losing to Sturt in any final this year.

Chris?

Last year you predicted 2008 would be the year of the Blues??

I see this game as a beauty. Two professionally Coached SANFL teams playing on arguably the best Suburban Oval in the SANFL

Sturt look strong in attack, in defense and in the mid-field. Central are always a measuring stick in any game they contest.

Game could be won by the psyche of which side's best prepared for debatedly the 2008 Minor Round game of the Year.

I see Sturt slightly more physically forward than the Bulldogs. I tip the home side by 23 points and hopefully go on to win the 2008 SANFL Premiership. :D :D :D

Sturt seemingly quick out of the blocks, while the first quarter was the difference in Centrals vs Port.

Sturt in a close one this week.

Cliche warning. While 'a win is a win', the 'dogs will be around the mark again this year and playing their best footy when it counts, when this week is a distant memory.
