Dogs should win confortably. The boys should be up and firing first game back unfurling the flag, so I'd be dissappointed if the intensity was lacking. Beyond that, the dogs should have far more depth, far too much class and have a much better game plan.

Port not without hope, but best hope is the dogs skills are down and aren't really fired up. Pickett really has to be BOG, or very near to it, for Port to win.

Anyone suggesting the dogs aren't overwhelming favourites and more likely to win by 30+ must have missed their last few days' medication!

Centrals by 13 goals in front of goodness knows how many, crowd numbers at Elizabeth are always miles out cause so many jump the fence or dont leave after running into the oval the night before when being chased by the cops
The fact that they're crap, they screw a clubman out of the captaincy, morale wont be great if similar to last year a majority of the players don't get paid monies owed to them until after the Auction Night, etc, etc.

Don't be concerned though, every team I pick year in year out to be wooden spooners or near it usually win at least one final.
Wasn't ideal, but these things happen at footy clubs, such as the Nunan/B Robran issue a few decades ago ;)

7,000 if the weather is poor, 9,000 if the sun shines. Dogs should win by 30 points + either way, just too much strength around the ground for Port at the moment.

Just heard it will rain which will keep some away unfortunatly. Still looking forward to a big crowd of 7-8000 and a close game Port under a goal

I reckon Port may just manage 3 or 4 goals for the game, don't be too negative - the season hasn't even started yet.

Central in a tight one by 7 points. Rain will keep the score down and Port will be a competitive outfit.

For those that dont wont to wait til the Advertiser tomorrow, or suscribe to Bulldog mail, here's our line up for the first game of 2007:

CENTRAL DISTRICT FOOTBALL CLUB LEAGUE SQUAD
SATURDAY 29th MARCH 2008 Vs PORT ADELAIDE @ HAMRA HOMES OVAL, ELIZABETH

Full Forward: Scott Dutschke, Daniel Havelberg, Heath Lawry
Half Forwards: Ian Callinan, Luke Cowan, Cameron Faulkner
Centre Line: Trent Goodrem, Chris Gowans, Leigh Westhoff
Half Backs: Adam Switala, Daniel Schell, Ryan Williams
Full Backs: Andrew Hayes, Yves Sibenaler, Richard Cochrane
Rucks: Earl Shaw, Paul Thomas, Matthew Slade

Interchange (from): Jason Mackenzie, Charles Slattery, Daniel Boyle, James Moss & Lee Spurr

I would say that Moss & Spurr are the two likely to be playing 2's from the extended interchange bench.

Noticable absentees from recent trial game teams / injury clouds (missing for various reasons) include: (Haven't seen the reserves team as yet)
Jonathon Giles, Chad O'Sullivan James Gowans, Luke McCabe, Matthew Westhoff, Luke Barmby, Elijah Ware, Kierean McShane, Kane Officer...

I would assume a few listed above will be playing reserves which is good for our depth. I've heard Noodles is on his honeymoon and I think McCabe has a hammy issue. Possibly 4 players making their League debut, at least 2 definates (Earl Shaw & Cameron Faulkner) possibly Mossey and Daniel Boyle. Interesting to see if Sully has a run in the two's and Matty Westhoff should be able to dominate at seconds level.

Should be a great night out, can't wait for Saturday to come...

GO U DOGGIES...
