I honestly thought he was very good. The game was so tight and scrappy in the centre the ball didn't come into our forward fifty with any consistency until the third quarter when Sturt stepped up a notch. I thought he definitely did well with limited opportunities, held marks and kicked a couple of great goals. Mind you, it is gonna feel funny cheering on Saaaaarrrge for a while just yet.

However talking with some of the Glenelg players today they were pretty impressed with Sturt (even though it was only a trial - nod to Brooklyn James)

Expect them to be around the mark this year....

Dissappointing from our point of view we didn't finish the game off. Need our lesser lights to be able to step up when given the opportunity.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

I always love posts like these....

'....most of our good players were rested...'

gotta love the excuses for losing a trial game LOL!!!!!!!

FFS, its only a trial, even before it started you said you didnt care...now you come out with the excuses!!!

all i did was give a brief summary to what i saw & yes sturt rested players as well & some didn't even play, it isn't any excuse, & what i said before is correct who cares who wins/loses trial games, i believe you went fishing & i bit back, but at least unlike sturt1, i like you stay on line win lose or draw when important games are played, & if you don't want my summary of what i saw just tell me & i'll go hiding like sturt1 as well ffs

I though that was a pretty good bite on Bayman's behalf Stampy, talk about touchy a Bayman, not only that but he's still brooding over Sturt1, it's like daytime TV, what a melodrama!

I watch the reserves and the first qtr and a bit of the league game.

Seemed to be a reasonable crowd there. Was the crowd bigger than if the game had of been at the Bay or Unley on Saturday Afternoon?

Was down the Northern end and found it hard to pick out exact players down the other end when the lights took effect. Wasn't too bad an idea to play a trial at Marion in my opinion.
