Mate I didn't say either of those things.

I just put the teams in a list without a W-L column. I predict Westies will be around the mark with Port and Norwood pushing for top 5 so I could happily re-order those 3 teams. In terms of 'power shift' I meant top 5 v bottom 4 staying the same

Even if they won 7 games (4 up on last year), they would have finished 2007 in 8th spot. But to me, 7 wins is a big improvement on 2007 when they were barely competitive IMO

Go the Bloods!

Okay my 5 c worth....

End of Minor Rd

Dogs - still the best mixture of skill and experience going around
Gods side - have added to their midfield which will provide them with plenty of scoring opportunities
My lot - our forward line is looking very strong ATM and at some stage this year we'll have to try and fit Sellar and Douglas into it for a few games - will get more value for our forward 50 entries than we did last year.
the Dirts - once again have the KPP to kick a winning score
LPRs - slipping back through some on field losses but will still be around the mark
Legs - their ins balances their outs so expect them to be fighting for 5th spot still come Rd 20-21
West - will improve but a 100% improvement is still only 6 wins
the Infedels - as said elsewhere their guns kids will take time to replace - their ressies had nothing last year and it will take time for the 19s to step up.
South - Jack will rediscover the pain of Fos in 61 & 62.

Realistically if any club gets their act together and plays hard tough basic footy that we know wins SANFL games my ladder will bear no resemblence to the final one at the end of Rd 23. Similarly any side thinks it is a monty for the finals well check you TV guide for Sept as you wont be playing footy.

With respect to my lot - if we don't make the five, in the words of Terry Wallace in The year of the Dogs, "I'll <insert expletive> spew" as the club has built a squad that is capable of playing finals footy and the coach has instilled the work ethics and game plan for us to play deep into Sept. If the players drop the intensity and play like individuals they'll be not only doing a dis-service to the club but to themselves.

Roosters to win there first flag since the blood bath

Centrals have to eventually miss a grand final. whats the record for most grand finals in a row.
Roosters have at least one flag in every decade since 1900 and only have a couple of years to go. ARE THEY THE ONLY TEAM TO DO THAT

We only have one out that really matters - McGuiness.

Yep he's a big loss, but Bailey's ability to get the pill, Pfieffer and Woenemarri will be missed too, IMO...

I don't think Bails will be a big loss for Norwood, but could potentially be a big gain for Westies, which sounds odd I know.

I don't think our style suited Bails (actually played his best footy under Dale Lewis imho) and I also think he felt undervalued at Norwood, so returning him to a coach that knows his abilities could be a big coup for the Bloods.

Central - same as always
North - will miss Hart who was a big reason they did so well in finals, still have the talent
Eagles - Lindsay is a big loss from last year, Lomas & Cooper also, but have depth and still a quality core group
Sturt - someone to help Chambers was their main problem last year, that appears to have been fixed
Glenelg - should consolidate on last year, but don't see them quite in the same league as the top 3 yet

Norwood - McGuiness a big loss, I always thought their main weakness was rucks & accountability, so perhaps an improvement
West - who knows, new faces but same guernsey, likely to win the unexpected and just as likely to lose the unexpected
Port - seem to have lost more than they gained, especially with the draft taking some promising juniors
South - do they have enough to field a team?

Flag - Eagles (perhaps more in hope than expectation, but why not...)

IMO Norwood are better off without Bailey.

I find predictions like this as tough as picking a quartet in the Melbourne Cup. You look at the favourites and what seem on paper to be the obvious choices but at the same time you have to allow for a bit of gut feeling and the surprise factor.

I'm going with:-

Central
Glenelg
North
South
Eagles

West
Sturt
Norwood
Port

Premiers: Glenelg
westozfalcon
League Bench Warmer

Joker, our current 8 in a row is the record.
