Do any of you blokes who are criticising here the Double Blue annual report have any idea how much effort and work goes into these things? Sure we could delay things and drag it out until late January, but I take my hat off to the guys in charge to have achieved making the thing available in December. Looks like only one other club has done as well to have it ready now.
No hiding rubbish here fella!

Yes I do. And i think that your point works against you.
There is indeed a hell of a lot of work that goes into producing the annual statements.
So to suggest that the members should vote to accept the reports as accurate without getting a chance to read them is treating your members with contempt. I would suggest only a small percentage of members have the know how and the inclination to go through these reports, but they are being denied this opportunity.
There are a vew avid "report readers" at every Bays AGM, and they always stand up and ask half a dozen questions in regards to changes to expenditure levels, increases in costs in particular areas, etc etc. Generally one of the board members is then able to answer the question to the satisfaction of all involved.
And i'm not suggesting that Sturt (or any other club) are actually doing the wrong thing financially at all.

This could all bite me on the bum yet, the Bays AGM is about 3 weeks ago and no sign of the annual reports being published yet.
BUT I would suggest that if the reports were delayed, so too would be the AGM.
Sorry for being anal about this, but in my world financial stability and strong corporate governance is possibly more important then the on field stuff.

You want people to believe you are truly appalled about how a club distributes their financials and so start up a thread about it?
righto, sounds feasible...or just having a little dig at Sturt over a non issue?

Are the Sturt people who "don't care" about this issue going to the AGM?
