I have heard from a guy involved in a certain SANFL club that he is keen to play SANFL , but isnt too keen on playing for Port as he is filthy at them for how he was treated.
He is supposedly keen on playing at Centrals.
Prolly BS as there is plenty of that floating about, but thats what I"ve heard.

Hmm. All I've heard is he is keen to play SANFL, has spoken to several clubs, but wants to come back to Port Adelaide. He wants to play for Port and Port wants him to play for them, and apparently isn't asking for very much money.

If, and its a big if, he can get fit and stay fit, then he would be exactly what Port need. A long kicking, goal kicking, game breaking flank/wing who is a great finisher and can lay the hard bump/tackle.

No doubting he has ability and has been a great player, his last couple of games at Melbourne he looked washed up, fat, lazy, disinterested.
The question is will he have A...Discipline B....Commitment
He will have to work dam hard, AFL clubs have had nothing but trouble with him in the latter half of his career, 1 off field indiscretion after another.
He is either going to be a feast or famine, the ball is in his court, be interesting to see which path he takes.

Care to elaborate on these 'numerous' indiscretions?

I believe that Byron retired from the AFL simply because he couldn't play like Byron Pickett anymore. Thus him being disinterested. In the SANFL, he can be Byron Pickett again.

Not turning up at training, not keeping himself fit, you tell me why he was banished to the vFL for 6 weeks or whatever it was, and lets not mention writing his car off paro into the side of someones house and leaving the scene of an accident, while he was at the Power.
Mate he would be a great asset to any side if he is fit and ready /switched on, time will tell whether or not he is, all I"m saying is the potential is there for him to be a lemon, if he wants to sign on for 3 years, thats a big commitment.
All the best 8)
