Seeing that Glenelg apparently had 3 000 supporters watching their Ressies, that still means only 4 000 North supporters attended today. Will need a lot more next week!

It wasn't a disgrace, stop all the harping!!
Its a long weekend, start of school holidays, Port supporters in mourning at Alberton, Bay to Birdwood car rally and over 11,000 fans attending West Torrens old home ground (Hindmarsh Oval er stadium) to see the other code.
North were just too good on the day as much as we would have loved the honour to get to another Grand Final.
If the crowd is anywhere near 35000 next week I will be amazed. More likely to get that many to the slowdown tomorrow.
The Eagles will live to fight another day
Verschrikkelyk!!

While the large number of red and white fans will be great to see, I don't think there will be more than 29,000 at the GF. I hope there is, it would be great, but sadly, I think huge SANFL crowds are gone.

I was there but only physically.
I embarassed myself today by not cheering, clapping or yelling once, just rested against the back fence on the hill catching about 50% of the game if that not even battering an eyelid once.
First time I've ever done that at the footy.
There wasn't 3000 Bays fans, more like 300, getting a bit carried away with the 3k remark.
Eagles supporters weren't out in quantity but they were there in quality, couldn't say a bad comment about any of them that made it there.
LEH somehow found me in the last quarter and congratulated me, I think he was a bit surprised to see how blank I was looking especially when I asked him who was in front.
90% of the Eagles cheer squad said gudday to me when I walked past after the banner congratulating me and the Cats for yesterday.
I think my missus thought I was having a mental breakdown when I joined her and the kids for the last 5 mins of the game and just looked blankly into the sky.
Between Geelong winning their first premiership in 44 years and North getting in their first GF in 16 years I really didn't know how to react.
I promise to get my head back together for next week when I will start cheering again.
Thanks to the dozens of people who sought me out today to say hello and shake my hand, hug me and give me kind words, its much appreciated.

I don't expect any more than 30,000 at the GF this week. Ticket prices are too high.

Whilst it doesn't impact on me and my family as we have free tickets from numerous sources I do agree with your point. The cost increase from minor round to the minor-majors is minimal. The subsequent increase to the GF is unreasonable and extreme.

You're not a fan of the SANFL if you would laugh at them getting a poor crowd, that's pathetic.

Wedgie

I am a sanfl fan and i hope they get a crowd over 30+ dont get me wrong
All im saying is there is a lot of people on here that have been saying if the eagles are in another grand final they wont get 25000.
So let see what crowd you GF gets. But anything under 29000, then maybe people might have to think on why the crowd wasnt there, cant blame WWT for that :?

Good luck on sunday Wedgie anyway! Enjoy the day

It's the same with the AFL. But it's not as bad here, at least real supporters of both teams can go.

If I were NFC I'd be looking to apportion some blame closer to home. If we showed the same imagination and desire to keep our supporters invloved and interested as the Eagles do we wouldn't have the derisory membership number we currently have. Norwood have a bigger supporter base but less members than the Eagles.

Says it all really. Well done CD.
