not 100% sure about this decision but it might please the long suffering south fans as they love him to death!!

According to Dave Flanagan on 5AA Sampson was always supposed to have been chosen as the successor to Jack Cahill at the end of his two years at the Panthers, so they made the decision to move it forward.
I hope its not a case of the Labor party and Mark Latham and picking fruit before it is ripe though!
