Panthers celebrating the 59th anniversary of their (last) premiership. Sadly, only two of the Beatles are still around to offer their congratulations on this milestone.

SANFL signs landmark new live streaming deal with AFL

The SANFL has today announced an exciting new partnership with the AFL which will for the first time see the Hostplus SANFL League streamed live and on demand via AFL.com.au and the AFL Live Official App.

Ahead of the much-anticipated 2023 season kicking off this Friday night, the landmark deal will see every men’s Hostplus SANFL League match, including the Final Series, delivered to football fans across the nation through unprecedented live and free streaming access.

SANFL Chief Executive Officer Darren Chandler said the addition of AFL Live to existing viewing platforms, SANFL Now and the Seven broadcast, would together broaden the reach and exposure of the Hostplus SANFL League to a whole new level.

“Ultimately our aim is to make our State League competition accessible to the largest possible audience, and with over 6 million monthly users on the AFL website and the AFL Live Official App, this will ensure huge cut through,” Mr Chandler said.

“This is not only an exciting opportunity to showcase our State League competition at a new level nationally, but also provide a huge increase in brand exposure for our Partners.

“SANFL Now will continue to stream all Hostplus SANFL League matches, including all Seven broadcast games. In addition, SANFL Now subscribers will continue to enjoy access to all SANFLW games, Reserves games, all U16 and U18 Torrens University games, historical footage and much more.”

SANFL’s longstanding broadcast Partner, Seven Network, will continue to telecast a SANFL match of the round live and free each weekend, as well as every Finals Series match, on Seven and 7plus.

AFL Executive General Manager Customer and Commercial, Kylie Rogers, said:

“The AFL has made a big commitment to making live streaming accessible via the AFL website and the AFL Live Official App. Through the addition of all SANFL Men’s League matches for the first time, fans have more choice to watch the best state league and talent pathway players in the country.

“We are delighted to give fans access to live stream SANFL footy and expose South Australia’s state league clubs and players to a broader national audience, with the AFL website and app attracting more than six million visitors monthly. Thank you to the SANFL for working with the AFL on this partnership.

“It is now easier for fans, families and recruiters to watch their favourite state league clubs as well as the future stars of AFL and AFLW.”

You will get access to the other 4 "grades" but I get your point.

No. This wont be the case.

It is being offered at a reduced rate, and a partial refund to those who have already subscribed.

The League games only will be available via the AFL site, who just take the SANFL Now stream and put it on their platform for free.

The SANFL Now platform will still be available in subscription form to see the Reserves, Under 18's, Under 16's, SANFLW and historical content.

Only if the SANFL changed their minds, they told me tonight they were going to offer a subsidised SANFL Now for members for $50 in the email going out.
(Previously it cost me $70)
I'm still going to take a full refund which I assume will be an option when I get this email tomorrow as I only get it to watch SANFL League games live occasionally. The other content doesn't interest me at all.

Interesting, so AFL & SANFL League games are free, but the minor grades still cost $'s? Who, apart from family of these players, are going to pay to see these games?

I will certainly still be continuing with my SANFL Now subscription. Having arranged one through the club, Central receive every dollar that we pay for SANFL Now. I take an interest in our Ressies, Under 18s, Under 16s and Women (possibly because I hope at least one of these grades will make finals ;) ) so will certainly view these matches through the system.
I am disappointed though that it is taking SANFL Now a full day to make these matches available for delayed streaming; am sure this wasn't the case last year. I am confident I could be out at College football in the afternoon and view Central matches later that night.

They will prob wait three or so days after the season starts, so they can get the Adelaide and Power published first. Got to get your priorities right.

Denied by Fantasia on radio this morning, but of course you can't believe anything that comes from that clubs management.
