The backline is struggling, lacking in talls, with his exclusion he is clearly not part of the game plan for some reason. Why stick around, and not enjoy your footy if your not getting a fair go. Good on him.

If your not part of the game plan & your a 25 yr old playing in the reserves with no sign of getting a recall why stick around. Get your head out of the sand mate. He is not suited to reserves footy, and therefore doesn't enjoy it. This is a bloke who was on an AFL list and he can't get a spot in the ailing backline that's void of quality defenders like Eichner.

Firstly d&w- players sometimes can be given 3 games to prove their worth a bit like Eichner was given early in his career & if you don't stand up you are dumped to the Bs, I'm sure a couple of blokes this week will feel the same pain & be reinstated to the Bs at the same time their character will be tested to see how long they take to put the dissappointment behind them & keep their heads up & thrive to be selected again, that only comes with consistant form.
Secondly- Ports backline is currently under enormous pressure because of the non accountability of the midfield, they also have a forward line thats lacking 2nd & 3rd efforts & don't chase hard enough to hold the bloody ball in their area to kick a winning score.
I'd hate to play in the backline at Port they are under enormous pressure week in week out, if any changes are to be made i'd be looking at getting some pace on the ball or through the midfield & make sure these players are accountable for their direct opponents.
Thirdly- my head is not stuck in the sand, i think yours is because your probably a family member of his & finds it difficult to except the coaches decision & reasons for his non selection, then again you probably havn't asked the coach for an explanation & have made things worse by getting in the lads ear with negative feed back.
Lastly- You maybe living in the past bringing up the AFL list, yes he was on one because he was then working hard as he was playing League football & was also in form now he isn't & his character is beginning to show.

Are you referring to Tyson Wait there heater?
One thing i can say about him is he's been played off the bench nearly every game in the Bs & that would be real frustrating in a 3 way rotation & i can see now why he's left for good & gone to the Imperials you can only take so much but when you've been playing League for a few years now ( Eichner ) & you've lost your spot due to form what do you expect from the selection panel, an easy spot coz you've been a regular the past few years? no way, completely different scenario's those two.
I must say with all the good work Tyles has done in the 19s with 2 flags i havn't seen to many of these young blokes go on with it or be given an opportunity in the League, or havn't they taken that next step from 19s to seniors? This so called FAB 7 which was introduced back in 2004 to help coaches with their development & juniors etc, i keep hearing of all these young lads well where are they & what are they doing to help their development?
Knights was blamed for to many over the boarder recruits in his time well i can tell you one thing theres far more now than their was then.

no im not a 'family member' of ikes NM. With the direction the club is taking i dont blame him for pulling the pin. Unproven, average players from interstate are getting a run before him. Why is the club heading down that path? Surely its a huge part of why they are struggling. They made their bed, now they sleep in it.

Those talented underage premiership players were getting a decent go last year - Hall, Carr, Taylor, Summerton, Mardling etc. Not so much this year which is dissapointing. They are filtering through though - Mercer and Shannon being another two. Weetra is back which is another. A couple others got drafted in Thomas and Ebert.

Dont really remember interstate recruits being a criticism of Knights. It was more the fact he couldnt coach and drove a couple of regulars and juniors away from the club. Considering Cahill went on a big recruitment drive when he took over the next year, it was never a criticism.

Its dissapointing about Wait leaving again, but I honestly dont think he was anything more than a reserves standard player. Just a touch too slow for SANFL league in my opinion, though he was great the level down. As for Eichner, again, dissapointing, but his form since he returned from injury was nothing to write home about.

What unproven tall defenders from interstate are getting a game before Eichner? Name them.

Not sure where the disappointment could stem from. Hall played a few league games last year. Had high hopes but his progression has stopped this year, perhaps through injury. Casey Carr played reserves, Mardling was injured all year and Summerton has continued in the League side.

I've said before, no matter how good they are in the juniors, you can't throw them all to the wolves in the League side. And with those juniors had another 20+ goal win over the weekend, the club is certainly heading in the right direction. It requires a little more patience and certainly not it's own supporters sniping at each other. Leave that for the opposition!

Yes i watched every game aswell Macca & my thoughts at the end of the year was lets keep this bloke for a few years as i know now we would of had success within 3-4 yrs.
Your entitled to your oppinion Macca as i'm entitled to mine so lets leave it at that hey?

Onto selection if Eichner stuck around he'd be definately playing this week with Thurgood suspended, thats exactly what i was talking about in relation to"patience". A ranga for a ranga! ;)

Might be a slight chance that Waterhouse will be playing for Para Hills in the next few weeks if his form doesn't improve.
