Pretty ridiculous that you can only watch the games of your club and not all sanfl games

Typical AFLite response.

Get yourself off to the No SANFL in the AFL thread.

lol are you serious? sorry for having an opinion (and one that is shared by lots of SANFL fans)

no wonder the comp is dying

If you are a member of your club, the cost is only $29 for the season. Plus, the money goes to your club.
I am much happier giving $29 to Central and seeing all our matches than giving $90 or so for AwFuL matches.
Cheers

People don't get my point, its a great deal for the regular die-hards who by default sign up every year. But how does that grow the comp?

It grows membership and is a great service to provide.
It grows the comp about as much as radio did, possibly more.
I was no longer a diehard but am definately a lot more interested now.
Its only a positive.

Agree this wont necessarily help with finding new members but this will help with retention which is just as important to growth

I'm not sure there a to many negatives to this

To me if you only have retention that means nil growth!

but lately they have been struggling with retention. memberships for most clubs are down. if this stems that bleed, they can then move on to growth from there. no point in trying to grow while the comp is bleeding out.....

Stopping the bleeding is growth for the SANFL in its current state.

I think if the streams are made free, it opens up a whole new viewership in the younger generation.

Perhaps the paid stream memberships give you access to all the matches and replays etc, but having it free via YouTube would be a great way to promote/market the league.

Watch the video of the matches with people who don't normally go to SANFL matches. When they see the standard of our game, hopefully they will become interested in our comp.

Cheers

PRICING

Digital Pass Product

Season Pass
$29.99 Members
$74.99 Non-members
30-Day Pass*
$5.99 Members
$14.99 Non-members

It does encourage membership and is an incentive for members. I feel the non member fee is high as it impacts persons that can not get to the games.
Perhaps the digital pass could be added to club memberships at an even lower cost.

Stop the bleeding?
Way to late, most of the blood has drained away to the Gayfl W!
Crowds this season will slide more, why wouldn't they, when it's got no direction for the future
other then to keep the two cancers happy with a fake competition. RIP 2013 the last of magnificent history.

Interesting views here.

Mine, and I think Dutchy and some others view is that while your club will get better coverage to your devices if you pay the subscription fee the deal doesn't do much by way of promoting the league to people who either 1, don't follow it or 2, used to but gave it away. I guess in someways if RPH or Life were calling it, does that bring in new listeners, followers?

Perhaps some of this is just some of us being old fashioned and the fact that we like the old tranny sitting somewhere in the back yard as you listen to a game, quite often not even the game that my team was playing in, it was a way of keeping in touch with all the teams across the competition.

Not a fan of losing the radio coverage, and whilst Im usually highly critical of the SANFL, I actually think this isn't a bad model .. Hopefully over time the clubs can use it to to pick up a few more memberships than they otherwise would have have.

There's the kicker though, what's more important, people buying memberships or people walking through the gate on a Saturday?

Memberships will help each individual club more, people on the terraces will help all clubs.

still dont see the downside of paying $75 for all games, with that $75 going to a club of your choosing in a digital membership or something.

I think with attendances declining, neither radio or streaming would make much difference tbh
