The loss cant be that bad I've been on here since Saturday night normally I'd shut up until Wednesday after a loss.

North weren't exactly fielding their strongest 21 either...

Very very true Punk but the Eagles had 4 18 yo and 10 first gamers
North had two teenagers I think.

Look North were by far the better drilled side in BOTH levels yesterday nothing can be taken away from that fact .
North at this stage of the year deserve to be up the top of the ladder. But way back in 2006 North and Glenelg both destroyed the EAGLES in Round 1 and 2. I in fact was having a verbal arguement with Eagles fans who wanted Ron gone .
And we all know what happened at the end of 2006.

Lets just see what happens in the next encounter by both teams.

North were much the better team for most of the game. I;m still not sure how the eagles got within 1 goal in the end. There were a few Eagles players out of their depth out there. But for positives. Rimington played very well. Roberts was more than capable in the ruck - his team mates need to honour his leads more often and have confidence to go to him. Guiffreida was excellent in defence.

Best players for the Eags I thought were Dabrowski, Powell, Giuffreda, Rimington.

Some good passages of play, mixed with some poor basic efforts at the ball, which should not be acceptable when playing for the eagles. Biagi, Geddes and Fitzgerald in particular need to improve their hardness at the body and ball.

I thought Fitzgerald was good for us. :?
But i agree with your comments on Biagi, he needs to lift!

Ok budget in hand Macentee played 31 games I am wrong
Guiffreda played 7 games so he has still played under 10

But reading the BUDGET there are still 10 players with under 10 games
one being Giuffreda .
then you have Stewart with 13 then salter with 23 Fairclough with 28
Not including Schwarze with his afl games listed in budget as 18

So my first statement was totally wrong and two players i emnetioned in the next topic were wrong.
This answer going by the budget should clear up any murky water I created

Very similar game that year too MickyJ - struggled to stay up with them Roosters all day, and then almost pulled a win off with a gutsy comeback. That day too, there were players that looked out of their depth, and a few of those blokes harldy played league again.

Something that was very noticable was the Eags looked a lot bigger unit than North but North looked a lot pacier.

Yep up to the last ten minutes of the fourth quarter .And Wedgie North have always looked faster than the rest of us for years.
Something not picked up earlier by Eagles fans two goals in the last quarter were kicked by back men Stewart and Mackenzie. Not sure why North forwards let them run lose but they did.Unless I am wrong again and they were moved onto the ball
