50% of Unley Oval makes for a pretty average background.

you can talk with the bogheap at prospect.

You are defending Unley Oval by referring to another ground as a bog heap? :?

I think Mic is referring to the fact that 50% or thereabouts of Unley Oval can't have spectators in the background of photos. You can't argue with that it's a fact.

lol, wasn't a spot of prospect that had mud on Saturday after one of the wettest recent winters. Not even the cricket pitch!

We don't make our millions by employing lawn mowers, we just put a couple of cows on there during the week.

From a very reliable horticultural source:

You can't cut it presently with the water restrictions and the winter grass cover clumping in patches. If it is cut short evenly all over the ground, the winter clumps die off, no re growth of better grass because of lack of water and it turns to dust and then with a little rain and continual use it will trun into a muddy bog all over the ground.

Maybe the curator at Elizabeth should have got his old text books out as from what I have seen this year Elizabeth is the ground in the worst condition. Moving our 17's and 19's out to Kilburn early in the season has also helped the wear and tear this year.

And when a player rolls an ankle on one of those clumps, he will smack someone on the head with a horticulture book.

Wasn't after a lesson, just like most around here when they post.

Dunno about you but I never rolled my ankle on clumps of grass, rolled my ankle on holes in the ground or but never grass.
Maybe my ankles (and the North and Dogs As and Bs) are stronger than most?

Prior to the ankle recon, I used to roll my ankle on timber floors.

A bare patch next to a clump very closely resembles a hole. It ain't your ankles that are different to most wedgie...

Agreed, if the clump is 2 foot high, grass does bend and compact a litte though!
Yes I know its not just my ankle that's different, my enormous **** makes me different than normal too.

**** = feet
