Sad news for the club. The loss of Archard and Kenna in one week is devastating for the club. As previously stated they are 2 recruits who have been top shelf and would walk into any sanfl team. I'm not sure that the Archard issue is the result of Souths current issues or not. He has had a horrific year with injury and has only been able to play a handful of games for the panthers.

I dont know what the problems are down South but they need to be addressed very quickly. Its time for strong management and leadership before this festers out of control. :?

May be a bit quick to assume it's linked to South's apparent problems and to draw any big conclusions based on that assumption

It could just be a personal/non-football related matter nothing to do with either South or the Crows. It sounds like it's just not the right time for him personally.

We may see him again down the track? Somewhere

Spoke with an offical from south & yes there is some unhappy players down there.
There Pres or footy director have been speaking to players in regards to next year and the first thing that the players are asking " is Pyman coaching next year ", the players have been told yes he is, the players have then replied with " well i need some time to think about it.

If you want to get technical 3 have already left Mitch Portlock played a few games early in the season. Now I noticed that he made the State country side from the carnival played in Pt Pirie

Jaques from Myponga Sellicks looks a real goer, how old would he be?, he is the type of player to offer a contract for next year now.

He really fired the panthers up when they got within 14 points, couple of nice goals and tackled strongly, whats taken him so long to play SANFL?

The club is in a no-win situation if the players are holding them to ransom. Keep Pyman and some players might walk. Cave in to the demands and then the players might end up with too much power and then what will next year's demand be?

Very unfortunate - lets hope sanity prevales down there.

Hopefully the clubs first move will be a contract to Luke Darcy either as a player or as a playing coach!

Pfft

He'd earn more just from the media then you could pay him!

Has JUST bought a new pub in Melbourne, so chance of return must be almost zero.

Top bloke though.
He's still my hero even if he is a little bit crap.

So he wouldn't need the money, then would he? More and more players are leaving the AFL system and playing for fun these days. Dew and Archard are two examples who turned down the bigger money the AFL provides because they wanted to have fun. If Darcy wants to play league football then he would. South would be crazy not to talk to him.

Stewy Dew admitted on radio that he has a very 'financial' partner and has had some wins on the investment front over the years so that money was no longer an issue for him hence part of the reason for deciding to give AFL the flick and enjoy life - good luck to him!

So I think I agree with your Darcy comments
