Eagles New Guernseys

All discussions to do with the SANFL

I know it's the way of the world but isn't it sad the prominence of the sponsor's logo is such a blight on some of our otherwise glorious SANFL guernseys?

Agreed, would like to see the sponsors emblem just like it was in the 80s when they were usually just a sew on patch at the top of the guernsey.
Ive got 3 North guernseys without any sponsor on them and they look the best.
I could be wrong but Jamie at the First Bounce might be able to get SANFL guernseys made up without sponsors on them.

The home jumper looks awesome. Not too sure about the away.

I'm happy with how they look. Also happy with Cicca being announced as captain.

I reckon the home guernsey is their best yet &, lets face it, anything would have been an improvement on last years clash guernsey.
Man U & others dont have a problem changing shirts after winning championships so why should anyone else??
Keep it fresh & innovative I say- the SANFL cannot survive on tradition alone.
Players win touches, Teams win matches, Clubs win Premierships.

It could be worse.
This is a recent East Perth jumper.
If one person does it, it's insanity. If millions do it, it's religion.

not bad at all. Definitely an improvement on the predecessor. Though I question the need for an "away" guernsey. Either of the new designs would have done just fine by itself.

It would be 7 different jumpers incl the 3 heritage jumpers

Christ the Eagles have had more guernsey's that we've had coaches....

The new away guernsey looks too much like the old Woodville Warriors guernsey, where's the respect for the old Torrens; traditions.....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Yep, good point. The main guernsey shouldn't clash with anyone given the green at the top and the larger gold Eagle on the chest. I guess you can't really tell until you see the guernsey's out on the oval, but if there isn't a clash, I hope they don't just wear the yellow one for the sake of it.

OMG another one!!!

Postby redden whites » Mon Mar 12, 2007 6:13 pm

What do they do down there, have a colouring- in competition each year.Maybe being a hybrid team means its not as important and changing the public identity of the club isnt as sacred as it may be to some others.Good luck to them but I personally would not like what seems an annual change of the beloved jumper.

It's not an annual change. The previous guernsey was first used in 1998. The alternate strip was in 2004, which is not really a change, just an extra guernsey.

I don't call that annual changes, nor a public identity change.

What I'll say is - I'm surprised more opposition supporters like you haven't rubbished it yet.

If you took into account the different position the Vee has been on our guernsey or the different width of our candy stripes we've probably had a few guernsey changes too!

And I take it you didn't care to read this?

cd wrote:SANFL survey over 12 months ago of all clubs recognition factors in and out of zones gave us some reasons to review our jumper. Children out of our zone had great difficulty recalling the jumper. But more so within our zone other clubs jumpers were better known than ours. (As I am unsure of the status of the research I cant release details of other clubs or be more specific).

Our jumper of last year was one designed to be of interest to youngsters with the splashes of green and blue on the gold and splashes of green and gold on the blue with the stripes on the shoulder and on the edge - with the Eagle outline on the chest - a modern jumper with an eye on youngsters.

There was a reason to change it; not just for the fun of it.
