Just realised he was a junior player for his and has played the last two years at Langhorne Creek.

Lined him up from a long way out, gutless & weak.
2 weeks is a gift for shit like that.

From a Doggies perspective the appetite for a contest was evident and ball handling was surprisingly efficient.
Looked very fit.
Whilst we lack any genuine ruck sized tall we had a lot of guys over 6 foot who may well prove tough match ups.
Aiden Grace used on ball looked a million dollars with Grant and Trav looking very sharp.
Dorizzi had some very good moments up forward and McCormack & Fort worked ruck well as a tandem and up forward.
Beuchner is a sound solid defender which allowed Llewellyn and Montgomerie the opportunity to fly for more balls.
During the second match up, Cowham and McDonald were impressive on ball and George Kendall made sure he impacted on every forward contest.

South were reliant on more short kicking than hands for movement and often missed targets which reminded us all its only February.

Pleased to hear that Darcy McDonald played well; one of my students from last year, a top young lad.

That’s 5-6 for me. Stamp it out. Had long disposed of the ball, didn’t see it coming coz it’s not reasonable to expect contact like that, that long after you’ve disposed of it. Cheap shot

Yeah not great.....ill concede should have been more than 2.

Silly as well, Cooper would be around the mark for some league footy but missing two at this time of the year will hurt.

He was experimented at half back, and looked okay, having predominantly played the majority of his football at half forward.

Not sur id be playing one of the worse kicks in the comp at half back. Hes one of the best for forward pressure in my opinion so he should play forward

Yep he is a shocking kick. Great pressure as a forward but hasn’t he kicked 5 goals 13 points in his career or something similar.

It’s Just a waste of time him having a set shot as the results are rarely great.

Wasn't that late. Looks bad because of the time spent lining him up but the carrier had the ball for almost all of that time so was a live target. By the time the ball was released I can't see how you pull out, they were moving in opposite directions so the closing speed was large and time to avoid nil. Nasty consequence though, the guy was lights out on contact. But you have to penalise intent, not consequence if you want to change behaviour.

Unlucky I reckon, but have to take the 2.

Afraid not, not these days, deserved at least 4.

I hearing Trent Burgoyne in the PA team in tomorrows trial against WWT. Are they allowed to play delisted AFL players ?

Just read it on the PA bigfooty sight under a trial game thread. He was delisted by the Power last year.

Former AFL rookie Trent Burgoyne has also returned to the club as part of the SANFL list and will line up against the Eagles - coincidentally the club he was drafted from.

I thought there had to be a two year break, but, then rules are not made for port adelaide or the burgoyne family.

There were 2 rule changes ratified by the SA Football commission, led by Ben Dover and Phil McCrackin.

"Port and the Crows will also be able to contract any delisted AFL player who has not played AFL or State League football for the past 12 months, shorter than the previous 24 month wait."

If Trent Burgoyne was on Port's AFL list last year how can he play for their reserves team this year if there is meant to be a 12 month break?

No 12 month break required.

If they have NOT played at that level in the past 12 months then they can be taken.
