The question has to be asked why these two clubs only attract supporters to showdowns?
Crows would be averaging under 200 at every other game and Port maybe 1000 tops.
Doesnt help the league that nearly everyone gets on for free today

Watching Lowden early on had me pining for the Angus Graham glory days but he certainly stepped up late.

Definitely.
Plus the fact that they're playing familiar rival opponents. Would it be fair to say that AFL supporters don't really relate to genuine SANFL sides as opponents worth beating?

Port Adelaide members don't get in for free. Would have been 6-800 Adelaide fans there, most of them about 14 or 15 years old.

4800 is a solid crowd, why can't it just be viewed as that?

therein lies the problem for our comp down the track, will be raised following the crows in the local league and support for the other traditional clubs will start to decline

Has that changed?
I was an Adelaide Oval member last year and counted as a Port member and got free entry to a fee SANFL games every season with each ticket at any ground.

More than a solid crowd, its a very good crowd, just wanted to know the reasons why they cant get that everyweek. Seems the Port faithful are only interested in the Showdowns, some of their crowds at Alberton have been very poor this year.
At what membership level is SANFL entry free for Power members?

I can't speak for Adelaide Oval Memberships, but only one category of Port Adelaide Membership , Club 1870 @ $800 per season , is the only package that includes Magpies home and away games.

So its "some" Port members that don't get In for free then not "Port Adelaide members don't get in for free", your statement was a bit misleading.

Ok thanks, do other catergories get Magpies home games only or anything?
I know with Essendon you only get home VFL games no matter what level season ticket you have, no away game access.

Granted, however, the Club 1870 is limited numbers and would be a small percentage of the 60,000 members we have.

So yes, some members do, I'm just trying to find how many of these packages are available. Fair to say the bulk of Port Adelaide members do not get free Magpies H&A entry.

At $800, entry to SANFL games is hardly "free".

14000 port members who sit in the western stand get free SANFL games thrown in, a fair chunk.

Probably a little more to do with the fact Crows played Saturday, Port had the bye and there was no AFL games to watch on FTA TV. Nice weather, Sunday afternoon, nothing else on - perfect reason to head to the game.. that is why I think the crowd numbers were up.

Yep Ill give the SANFL credit on this one, good time to have this game to maximise attendence, just sad that they can't get the schedule right for the traditional SANFL clubs  but then again as long as the AFL reserves teams are happy...
