Fair point.
What was she thinking? But...what was the ump thinking, as well?

Duldig's second goal is interesting. Had the ump called play on there? Jenner didn't look like he'd played on; if that was the case, the smother was an infringement.

Granted the first shot wasn't far out, but the bloke would have had to run through some slop!

See the 28:00min mark of the recovery session!!

Don't be so certain that the 25m penalty was paid because of that. Yes, it was a Central trainer that crossed the mark after giving a Dogs' player some water (also, Retzlaff went a bloody long way back !!!) but I am led to believe it was as a result of some back chat to the umpire...

One umpire in particular was hot on it throughout the game. I was sitting on the boundary for RPH, right in front of the interchange gates. There was a passage of play in front of me that saw a Dogs player (can't remember) and Sturt's Fraser Evans...

There was a bit of push and shove between Evans and the Dogs player after a tackle went over the boundary line. The umpire came in, appropriately, to tell the players to separate and there were some unnecessary profanities directed from Evans to the umpire. The umpire then took the neutral ball and awarded a free kick to the Dogs.

Like I said, I heard, first hand, in the Dogs rooms post game that the penalty was as a result of back chat, ie indiscipline from Sturt...

In defence to Don Cooper - the commentator who was calling the play at the time...

Don is a former SANFL goal umpire and has been heavily involved in the development of some of the younger umpires going around at the moment...He previously was employed by the SANFL in an Umpire Development Role...

One of the younger umpires who Don had done a bit of work with in the past is actually a young man currently umpiring at League level (but he didn't do the Central game, though)...

That young mans' name is... Scott Hoskin

That would have been the reason Don would have called Justin 'Scott'...

We all make mistakes during commentating, trust me !!! One thing is for sure, he wont do that again :)

It's my understanding that it was for the Centrals drinks runner running across the mark and the umpire stuffed up, it's also my understanding that someone from the Centrals bench apologised to Sturt for the incident.

Anyone from Sturt apologise for Duldig sneaking in before the play on call up the other end?

So it wasn't play on, mate?
I asked that one up the top.

You'd be pretty happy with that goal if you were Duldig, it's a ripper.

Didn't look like play on, my commentary was more on the apology than either passage of play. If the umpire ****** up, why in he'll would the beneficiary apologise?

All you need now is that Phil Gallagher/Des Foster apology.....
