Missed yesterdays game so just watching the replay now .. North have a size advantage and were understandably trying to exploit that, just not sure if they went about it the right way. As for Andersons tackle on Allan it was dangerous and he'll get games, especially as it's ended Allan's season, but a lot of sling tackles (imho) aren't intentional. All players are instructed to drive their opponent into the turf when tackling, and when the tackler isn't watching his opponent he can't always know how he's going to land.

Fair points JK

One thing about sling tackles
Its easier to sling Jimmy Allan than say Juice Newton or Liam Davis
Therefore smaller players tend to get slung more than bigger players
There's sort of a fine line between executing tackles and slinging on some occasions

Are North Adelaide v Norwood games the new rivalry games ?
With no Port Adelaide, it makes sense these days
29 Norwood Premierships = most of the current sides in the comp
13 North Adelaide premierships = equal 2nd most of the current sides with Sturt

The
Robran/Allan/Jarman/Hammond Cups perhaps ?

The tackler has a duty of care, so Anderson will have to go for it, just think whilst it looks bad it might not always be intentional

For North Alan Obst & Joe Anderson both reported and for Norwood assistant coach James Gallagher was reported for allegedly abusing the umpires at quarter-time.

If the Obst report is the one Im thinking of (via TV footage) it won't even make it to the tribunal and nor should it. I thought I heard that Clinch might have been reported?

Was a terribly umpired match, although that pretty much goes without saying, both sets of supporters would have been feeling pretty confused and aggrieved.

The supporters weren't the only ones. The channel Seven comentators were at times left almost speechless by the umpiring, at times having no clue what was going on. Believe they made the point about ten minutes in to the second quarter that 25 free kicks had been paid to that point.

Geez, shame about Jimmy, might be a bit of karma there the way after his Dad acted on Anzac Day.

Terrible crowd given that two years ago in a televised match on a Saturday North vs Norwood drew a crowd of 4,134 which was the biggest Saturday afternoon crowd of the 2012 season. Even last year North vs Norwood drew a bigger crowd than yesterday and last year's game as well as being televised also clashed with a Crows Football Park game.

The umpire certainly took out his book, wrote details and paid a 50 metre penalty in the Clinch incident. I didn't see it, but my mate yesterday said that the umpire made a glaring mistake and got the wrong man. If that's the case, perhaps it has been thrown out, but who knows. The umpire also got his book out when North got their first goal and then got a free in the centre. A Norwood barracker said that he thought that Panos had been reported but there has been no mention of that either. It would probably have been the classic retaliator getting caught if that were the case.

Don't blame Ken Mc that culture has been with North a long time and thrived with Jarman.
Nunan and Patterson were the only coaches who could control that culture ..... and look at the results they achieved !!!!!!

Cobblers
Francou had them playing as a team last year. Culture starts with the coach

It sort of starts with the coach but in my opinion it actually starts with the CEO/president both these positions and the coach need to be preaching the same message for the players to buy into a culture.

Anderson and Clinch both been offered 2 games. Gallagher got $200 fine - completely pointless to be honest - so he abused an umpire, who doesn't and given their performances this season they should pay his fine out of their lolly sales kitty! What are the SANFL going to do with that financial windfall?

That's true, North need to replace all 3 and sooner rather than later, the club will be mediocre (on the field) for as long as any of those three remain
